Iran

One is a war on the edge of the Mediterranean, involving the RAF, which has escalated - initially seeing Iran and Yemen becoming involved, and now another 12 countries have been attacked.

The other is a war in the Hindu Kush mountains which no-one has heard of, between two countries no-one supports, that has no wider global implications.

Also, this thread is about Iran, one of the countries involved in the first war. If you care so much about the Afghan/Pakistan War, why not start a separate thread about it?

Escalated? Iran are the root cause man

I thought it was up there with The Office in terms of absolute cringe. You could feel the embarrassment in the room other than Pete the eagle Hekseth who found it funny.

Kinda the same jokes how the British refer to the Germans and sometimes the French during WW2 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mexican teen dies while being held in US immigration custody apparently 42 people have been "iced".

A 19-year-old Mexican man has died while being held in detention by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the agency has confirmed.

Royer Perez-Jimenez was found "unconscious and unresponsive" on Monday at the Glades County Detention Center in Florida, according to a statement from ICE.

"He died of a presumed suicide; however, the official cause of his death remains under investigation," the statement adds.

According to US media, Perez-Jimenez is the youngest prisoner to die in ICE custody since Donald Trump returned to office and launched a nationwide immigration crackdown.
Perez-Jimenez was found in his cell at 02:34 (07:34 GMT) on 16 March, according to ICE, which added that prison staff "immediately" began life-saving efforts.

The statement says he was arrested in January and charged with fraud for impersonation and misdemeanour resisting an officer. Officials say he had illegally entered the US at an unknown date.

When he was admitted to the jail, he "denied any behavioral health issues or concerns and answered 'no' to all suicide screening questions," ICE says.

The Mexican government has requested more details about Perez-Jimenez's death, and called it "unacceptable".

"The Government of Mexico reiterates that these deaths are unacceptable and once again calls on immigration authorities to carry out a prompt and thorough investigation to clarify the circumstances that led ‌to this death, determine responsibility, and establish effective guarantees of non-repetition," the foreign ministry said on Thursday.

According to Detention Watch Network, a group which opposes immigrant detention, there have been more than 42 migrant deaths in custody since Trump returned to office in January 2025.

Immigration raids have also led to multiple deaths of migrants, as well as of two US citizens who were shot by agents in Minnesota.

Under Joe Biden, the president who preceded Trump, only 24 deaths were reported in ICE custody during his entire four-year term, according to ICE statistics, external.

Just curious how this is related to Iran? Also do you have a link to this story?

You are helping dismantle that moral code of conduct.

And lets get specific. Iran funds Hamas, Iran funds Hezbollah. Iran targets Israel.
It doesn't really target us.

More importantly, Iran does not fund ISIS who are the main threat to us. The same ISIS that NEVER attacks Israel. I wonder why? It mostly targets arab states. Do you ever wonder who funds ISIS?

A quick Google and ask grok tells me other wise.

You probably don't see it in MSM as the usual culprits only really report one way when it's Israel.

We are going to trust Google ahead of ex-CIA whistle-blowers? Really?

ISIS is more an idea than a coherent organisation.
Lone wolves, supposedly inspired by the group's ideology, may carry out random acts almost anywhere. But the bulk of the group's well-funded activities have been focused on the Levant, targeting Assad and other arab groups.

I don't trust either to be honest.
