Immigration

No they aren’t! They are refugees from other populations seeking to become part of ours.

We are bound by conventions. We could withdraw but would damage our international reputation and standing should we do so.

The reason why they do not immediately become part of our population is so that the necessary processing takes place to weed out those who are masquerading.
Yes they are! They are economic migrants who want to come here to benefit from the welfare state.
We should withdraw from conventions that are not in our interests to belong to, 'international reputations' come and go. Not only are the illegal immigrants masquerading, the 'necessary processing' is a masquerade.

The Camber Sands one is empty? 😁 Sending them there should make them think twice about coming.
I recall an incident a few years back where the Camber Sands holiday camp had a case of discrimination brought against them by gypsy-types. Apparently someone had telephoned to make a booking and given an "oirish-sounding surname", which was declined. Apparently there had been at least one incident of fighting with travellers on the holiday camp on a previous occasion. Fighting, it's more of an activity/pastime with Travellers

Well the thought they might have a shed-load of actual real travellers would really upset locals šŸ˜€
Camber Sands being next to the well-to-do town of Rye, having an immigration camp nearby will send crime rates soaring and property prices plunging.

1) They aren’t part of our population. They are asylum seekers awaiting processing. They cannot work and we are bound by international conventions.

2) Help is available to those in our population who have problems in finding accommodation.

3) Having people roaming the streets, without money or the legal means to earn any, doesn’t seem like a good idea.
Just a small pointer from me to your 2)
I became homeless in 2016 at age 69, living out of my car. I was born and bred here and did a little bit for my country, and was very proud to do so too. I signed up in the Army at the age of 16 in 1964 in the 1st Battalion Queens Royal Surrey Regiment. When I became homeless, I went to my then-local Council in Oxted, Surrey, Tandridge Council, they told me to go to Shelter who were as much use as a chocolate ashtray. Meanwhile, a family of 4 immigrants were given a 2-bed house in Harlow, Essex, very cosy. So, your assumption that help is available might just be a bit wide of the mark, it certainly was for me. I sorted everything on my own in the end.

I am sorry for your misfortune but it's stories like this that get people angry.

Politicians can always find money for wars an stuff that benefits them but helping your own is low down on there list.

2 Bollocks. Been their, got f*** all help being a single white male. As told by council šŸ‘
3 More reasons to deport the fuckers then šŸ¤¬šŸ–•

The Vietnamese are economic migrants who've come a very long way.

Are the French not bound by International Conventions? Why are they not supplying accommodation for the ā€œasylum seekersā€? If they haven’t applied for asylum in France, why not? and why aren’t the French making moves to removed to whence they came?
I am not very well informed on what happens in France

They, of course, are bound by the Conventions and do have accommodation for them. Which apparently is insufficient to meet the demand. Only those seeking asylum in France will apply and so those wanting to get here won’t be accommodated. Crossing land borders illegally in Europe is easy. Why don’t they apply in France? Perhaps because they only speak a little English.

The UK paying them £476 m doesn't help much either.

That is pathetic. Don’t France have interpreters. We spend nearly 60 million on them so clearly many don’t speak English either. You are tying yourself in knots by defending piss takers.

The french don't give a s*** about em and do what they like as usual. The twats in u.k government and previous governments don't really give a s*** either, just let Joe public put up with it and if they moan to much bring in some more laws to shut them up.

A friend of ours is actually well off and owns a famous local business. Their name is McDonagh - which is also a common traveller's name. They book hotels in the maiden name of the wife - as they get told hotels are full otherwise.

What is pathetic is our governments past and present are too scared to pull the French over this.

We recently had the perfect opportunity. If i was Starmer I would have told the EU we are not going to even discuss fishing rights until you (mainly the French) start doing the job we are paying you for and we will only start discussions when we see evidence you are doing this and not vague promises.

Instead what we got was a vague promise about Egates which it now turns out is just that, no guarantee that it will happen.

Perhaps cancelling Macron’s State Visit may concentrate their minds

Regarding my comment about the fishing deal. I have just seen that the Tories are saying we should suspended the EU deal until this is sorted out. I hadn't spotted that before I made my comment but it makes sense, so never going to happen.
