I am near the end of a European trip of Switzerland, Italy/Tirano and Milan, Munich and now Salzburg.
To me, economically and socially the Swiss model works best based on taxed mainly on what you consume, immigrants have a limited period out of work then lost all rights and sent home. Minimum wage is CHF 25 per hour which means unlimited suppy of eager workers to do mundane work. Light touch govt unless you break the rules then you get punished.
Munich was the only major city, what a lovely place.
All other stops have been smaller towns.
The rail networks are great , the water is drinkable, vast majority of those working in tourist related jobs are indigenous. The Austrian bus driver yesterday finished his shift and drove off in a Merc 190.
The number of non white people you see is low, even in Munich.
In Austria and Switzerland they have managed what seen good levels of integration.
High levels of church attendance, have not seen one minaret.
So sad to compare with the UK

Whilst I agree with stop the boats this is just plain wrong. I object to Stop Oil pulling their stunts and inconveniencing the public, this lot are just as bad. Folk going on holiday may not get away now.
If they want to protest go and find where the boats are landing and turn them back. They are certainly not arriving at ferry ports.

Managed to find the one teenage girl. There were maybe a few hundred women in the 80,000. They also managed to find one who is genuinely u18. Not just faking it.
They said none would be entering the EU. It looks like 2,500 are.
The reasons she gives for going to Cuesta are also enlightening. Basically saying, I'm not very rich so you take me and give me money. The point is, economic migration is just as valid now, apparently. It's not questioned whatsoever anymore.

An interesting event. Not quite sure what to make of it. Clearly a lot of organisation, allied with an ability for people to keep their mouths shut and do what they are told...
Mhmm....on the face of it, a positive. But then again if the people behind it are those I think they are then not convinced they are strictly of my side of the Right.
Wild the non-event it’s been on here. If it was a pro-Palestine protest it would have 50 pages by now.
1,000 geriatrics holding signs? Mouth frothing. 100 odd balaclava clad lads shutting down the main port of the country for a day? Tumbleweed.

Yes, it's not as if there were many hundreds of terrorist-supporters doing it every Saturday for months.
]It was a few hundred. And they closed it for a few hours. But yes, definitely a subject worthy of consideration.
The event was staged. Incredibly well. And the police....just let them walk through them. No attempt to even use any of their usual tactics.
Have a hunch that somebody in MI5 is either getting a huge pat on the back. Or sacked on Monday. But something very off-kilter about it. Don't get me wrong, I WANT it to be what it appears to be, at least on a casual viewing. Potentially a very exciting development....BUT....more than a little (too?) cynical these days. Perhaps to willing to see shapes in the shadows that do not exist...but we will see. Smacks of a similar kind of organisation over in the US.

I’m sure the organisers would have preferred some disorder so they could attack the police, so their bluff was called. Farage and Jenrick distancing themselves from it for obvious PR reasons. MI5 would have had undercover operatives on the march and so would have been monitored.
Disagree. The entire point was the LACK of disorder. The entire State policy towards far-right shows of street presence is to discredit them. Its documented fact that SO15 will put instigators inside them, and the police reaction is also deliberately designed to provoke (its all about seeing how and when they kit up in all the riot kit. BLM marches and they are not wearing any kind of head protection, even a hint of any kind of organised Right Wing demo's and its all shields and helmets from the off, ditto with football).
Seemingly NONE of that happened yesterday. Supposedly an attempt to kettle and the demonstrators just strolled straight through.
What we saw yesterday was pretty unique here in the UK. No flags. Plus the masks. The Right prides itself on not masking up. That is for Antifa as they are cowards. Until yesterday....
