The BBC have run a live update on the court sentencing today right at the top of the page, they are loving it.

I don't remember anything like that for the BLM rioters.

I don't think those measures have much material impact on population size in the short term, which is what I was questioning, but I appreciate the response.

What does the bit in bold mean? They've halved immigration in a year - ideology didn't seem to stand in the way of that. What ideology are they ruled by?

The current ideology is that all immigration is positive. Also desperate to prove that with any positive spin or propaganda possible. Anyone who opposes that is narrow minded.
One of my main issues is importing people far more narrow minded than anything I could come up with. But, funnily enough, never heard the government really comment on that. As they're ideologically driven to push one agenda.

If I remember correctly Dan is or was (none of my business) in a mixed relationship/marriage and has children as a result.

As I've said previously, you fall in love with who you fall in love with....no judgement.

However, he appears to use this as some kind of excuse to be against people like us.....apparently we are going to harm his family in some unspecified way and that motivates him to be like he is.....I went to uni with a guy who went woke around 2020 after a mixed marriage....was your default Christian before....completely changed him, started using all the terms.....though perhaps Dan was always woke don't know.

This is a fair point. There are always home grown criminals. Even people of the most despicable character imaginable. However, it's not really worth bringing in any more. How many are too much? I think we may be seeing it getting closer. I think people accept there's always an element of criminality. But crazy beheading attacks and claims of racism. All too familiar.
An issue is, there's always some nut case to do something, just when the government think people have bought the far right narrative. Very normal people are angry.

I think we can say that while we don't want anyone being burnt in houses, we don't want them here.

Opinion polls have always shown that.
