Oh do piss off you pretentious fool. Absolute fecking nonsense. I promised myself to not lose my temper with you and try and have a reasonable conversation with you but my word you are impossibly aggravating. So laughably ignorant.
Then you are another here, and there are several, who cannot cope with another point of view which contains simple truths.

There is absolutely no evidence at all of our police treating suspects from ethnic minorities any differently to those from the majority. There is evidence that they have received guidance on how to handle different cultures to ensure they get everything they need from them and that they are treated fairly. Which, given the past racism in police forces was needed.

I suggest that you reflect for a while on those facts before jumping onto the keyboard to post more insults.

Jeez you are sinking to the depths
Do you seriously think there is any justification for protests over the murder of Henry Nowak?

Seriously?

What do they achieve? The murderer is in jail! There is an enquiry into the way the police officers responded.

The family don’t want their boy’s murder politicised.

How can they even be defended, let alone justified?

I told you J. Bite your lip for your own sanity. He is never wrong and even when it’s obvious he will swerve the fact he is. Stay the course as you will have many more frustrations from some posters. You are clearly a far right racist bigot like all who disagree with this s*** going down in this country 😁
You are all fully entitled to consider that the country is in a mess. I will continue to argue it isn’t, at least for the reasons you seem to believe.

What is indisputably true is that the murder of Henry Nowak has no connection of any kind to that debate. He was murdered by British subject, who happened to be a Sikh. British born, British educated and part of a community with no history of any kind of controversy.

After doing some digging it seems like this nudge thing I was referring to in the quote I posted above has a name, in times of unrest this lot are deployed as a nudge unit to improve public relations. Bingo. There we have it.

Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), originally nicknamed the UK's "Nudge Unit," is a consultancy that applies psychological science to public policy. It courts controversy due to concerns that its "choice architecture" subtly manipulates public behavior, skirts informed consent, and treats citizens as objects to be steered by the state"

Now Wisbech Eagle when you post about families impact statements just have a think about what kind of input the organisation above has had in it all.

I just knew it to be far too fishy, indeed when you feel something is off, it is because it usually is.
So you have discovered that someone provides advice to businesses on how to influence public policy. Big deal. I bet there’s more than one.

Are you suggesting the police would, or worse did, employ such a consultancy?

If so please provide actual evidence. Feeling something is much more likely to be your prejudices nudging you than anything elsewhere.

And Stephen Lawrence was a British subject murdered by other British born subjects. None of which was deemed relevant.

I wonder if he argues with the members of the bowling club. They wouldn't be dissimilar to golf club members, proper racists right?
Strangely never.

My close friends there all hold broadly similar views to me. Politics is not though a usual subject of discussion among the broader membership. The one universal view is despair over Trump. He is the butt of many jokes. We discuss sport much more. There are more Palace fans in the club than those supporting any other club. Which makes a pleasant change! We also discuss a lot of cricket as we have a member who was previously a well known English Test cricketer who is full of stories about Ashes tours etc.

No time to argue. Too many laughs.

If I recall correctly there were accusations that the police at the time of the original investigation did not respond appropriately. Making sure that any kind of racial bias is irradiated is the point of the current guidance. To ensure equity and fairness. Not to destroy it.

Yet here we are 33 years later. Bang up job done there then.

If you have equity, you automatically can't have fairness.

It's literal communism and anyone living a better life through their own efforts is an idiot to utter the word without financially giving up their advantages for them and their loved ones gained through hard work or luck/privilege, whatever we call it.

I bet they have a right gas.

The guy is about as dishonest as it gets, how much of what he says has elements of truth....I couldn't say. He does seem the type who would play bowls though.

He claimed to be the bowling club go to guy for everything, you can imagine when he arrives the other members all pretend to be asleep.

Every club has at least one of these types

All public sector/ civil service departments employed Stonewall to lecture staff, does that count? Probably not, as it doesn’t suit

How does this "feel"? From the Behavioural Insights Team website and the College of Policing.

Key areas where behavioural insights are applied to policing include:

1. Culture Change and Internal Conduct
  • Tackling Misogyny & Sexism: The UK's College of Policing uses BIT frameworks to understand and address barriers to reporting inappropriate behavior within forces. By assessing officers' capabilities, opportunities, and motivations, forces are implementing targeted interventions to eliminate toxic workplace cultures. [1, 2, 3]
  • Communications Strategy: BIT principles help police communications teams design messaging that actively builds trust and combats everyday prejudice. [1, 2]

2. Police Recruitment and Diversity
  • Closing the Diversity Gap: BIT conducted field experiments showing that simple changes to recruitment emails (such as prompting minority applicants to reflect on why joining is important for their community) increased the probability of minority candidates passing key tests by ~ 50% without lowering recruitment standards. [1]

3. Crime Reduction and Intervention
  • Understanding Homicide: BIT worked alongside the Metropolitan Police and London's Violence Reduction Unit to analyze data from homicide cases. This framework identifies early behavioural indicators—such as undiagnosed mental health conditions and substance abuse patterns—to provide opportunities for earlier intervention. [1]
  • Traffic and Anti-Social Behavior: By analyzing psychological drivers, BIT has developed low-cost interventions, such as modifying the text on speed awareness course correspondence, which successfully reduced speeding in the six months following the communication. [1, 2, 3]

Standard practice in business is if there is a PR issue bring in a firm of outside consultants to tell you what you already know. That way you can demonstrate to the public you are "doing" something and if the staff are pissed off you can blame the consultants.

Even better if you are in the public sector make sure it's a company with links to a retired politician or senior Civil Servant .

Now where's that trough. 😀

It is clear and obvious that the country is in a mess.
It is clear and obvious that the murder of Henry Novak has a very important connection to that debate.
Weapon carrying Vickrum Singh Digwa is not British in any meaningful sense. To say he is is like saying that George Orwell, Cliff Richard, Joanna Lumley, Spike Milligan and Rudyard Kipling are all Indians as they were born there.
