After 1941 there was no chance of that as the invasion barges were no longer there, at Monte Cassino it was very much in the past.
That's revisionism.
Once the war was declared, of course there was still a good chance of that if Germany had won.
That wasn't known for certain until D-Day was a success......Hitler and Stalin could have come to an agreement in 42 or 43.
In fact if Hitler hadn't made mistakes by opening up two fronts we would have definitely been worn down in the air and then invaded.
