I wasn't in favour of BLM going ahead in covid lockdown, I think the Stop Oil are daft but Trump is a different matter. But none of that is as orchestrated as the Nazi riots and harming Britain financially.

codswallop. Speaking on behalf of Ireland which has had a billion zillion of corrupt EU/Tech giant money thrown at it............money causes at least as much problems as it ever helped.

If those protests had happened outside lockdown would you describe the participants as fascist thugs?

Plus, it's funny how we're so much more expensive since the EU. The EU has done nothing at all about any of our domestic issues, except make them worse.
There has been no alleviation of housing, inflation, fuel inflation - nothing. Any infrastructure has been private and has tolls or charges or is not fit for purpose.
In fact, the EU seemed positive a while ago, when I list out the reality of it, it seems totally rubbish.
However, if you have a competent government perhaps it can work. I'm not against the idea, I'm against the reality of it. Mainly it's a gravy train for our politicians and also an excuse as to why their hands are tied and everything is not up to them.
Funny that, as plenty of other EU countries do things with no problems.
Get the train from Dublin airport when you come over and see exactly what I mean. Drive around Galway City or Cork City and see how you find that.

They had a genuine grievance there was no grievance at Epsom they jumped the gun after the local M ember of Parliament and the police told them NOT to speculate and await the police investigation. It is really easy to understand, they were just looking for trouble and the chance to damage Great Britain.

Sure. A legitimate grievance about a criminal who died in a different country whereas suspicion about something that might have happened locally shouldn't cause any protest.

Yes an unfounded suspicion so a witch hunt without a witch,clever stuff! For a long time I've thought of the racists as simple souls I did not expect them to work overtime in order to prove my theory.

I am not fully aware of the facts in this case but wasn’t his asylum claim already refused? If so presumably because of the discovery of the previous conviction. No doubt he then appealed and due process meant he had to remain whilst that had to be heard.

It might be very frustrating but as a law abiding country which provides safeguards for us this is sometimes the result. It would all be so easy if someone like this arrived with a label announcing he was a convicted murderer and he could just be sent back across to France, but it isn’t.

We are between a rock and a hard place where stories like this one can produce outrage but little of anything practical.

It seems you are complaining about the Irish government rather than the EU! That’s a step forward. We all moan about the current government, whoever it is. Governments actually have to do things, whilst oppositions only have to tell stories. Often just fairy stories built from piles of wishful thinking. The Tories were bad, but Labour is worse. Reform just keep on dishing out tonnes of green grass harvested from fields in places like Hungary. Look what happened there. The Democrats were bad, Biden was senile. The MAGA Republicans are worse. Trump is crazy.
