The protest started around 17.15/30 and most shops that end of the high st would be closing , The Poundland and Bella Pasta have closed for good , McDonalds was open , Leeds BS , Greggs , Post office , Dyers , Lloyd’s , Numerous charity shops , Jewellers , Estate agents etc would be closed by 1730 that just leaves some Vap shops that stayed trading .
The Police herded the protestors into the road and blocked to traffic , The protest was due to go to the Police station down a side street where the organiser was going to hand over a written request for information , If the Police had allowed that to happen hardly anyone would have known they were in the town .
The local pubs were busy by all accounts after ..
I think the upper end of the high st was closed to allow the Police to park their numerous vehicles and show off their riot shields etc TBH .

Jesus said only those without sin could cast the first cone , I think the 10yr old kid who threw the first cone was pretty innocent , so qualifies 🤣

Don't recall you complaining about supporters of Islamic terrorism protesting every Saturday in London causing far greater disruption.
 
Police are saying they cannot find any evidence a rape took place on Saturday at the Church in Epsom but not that one didn’t take place , They added the alleged victim is still being supported by the Police .
All very complex it appears .

People are fed up with being told to shut up and there is nothing to see. There is plenty to see, that's why we are being told to shut up.

As an edit, I agree that it's possible she was so traumatised by the events and can't remember anything.

However because of what has happened over the last few years, these events will continue to happen.

The protests are bigger than the alleged attack. It's an outpouring of emotion from people being constantly overlooked and branded ignorant and racist by our government and institutions.

I mentioned in an earlier post that in my home village of Merstham a lady claimed to have been gang raped by people with foreign accents. This was around 4 years ago.

This case was closed due to a lack of evidence. Whatever that meant.

Strange that this never made the national press, but Epsom has. A sign of times.

Who suggested the protesters are stupid?

I don’t think they are but I do think they aren’t thinking straight, or are being encouraged to suspect things that remain unknown.

This issue has nothing at all to do with immigration yet as soon as the police say they cannot release identification conclusions are jumped to. If they needed to release something they would. If they had something that might help. You cannot prosecute anything without sufficient evidence to remove any reasonable doubt. A lady claiming something isn’t evidence.

There must be a good reason why the police haven’t released anything. I don’t think they should unless it would help to bring someone to face justice and never just to satisfy prejudices. If people don’t want to be branded racist the answer is simple and lies entirely in their own hands. Which is to stop doing things that have any appearance of a racist motivation.

Yes because if they said the rapists were foreign nationals there would be demonstrations outside the the local asylum seeker hotels

That’s the whole point!

If they are foreign nationals then there are legitimate questions to be answered. If they aren’t then the protesters are stoking racism.

I don’t know which is true. Do you, or are you making assumptions? Until we know I think it’s best to allow the police to do their job unimpeded by us.

They have said no evidence either way and there are to the best of my knowledge NO asylum Hotels in Epsom,sorry to spoil the story that you want to hear, reality at some point must seep in.Quite a few good yarns being spun on here.
 
Whether a rape actually took place is now in doubt. The police have though now said there is no evidence of asylum seekers or immigrants being involved and are reviewing CCTV and appealing for witnesses. The alleged victim is “receiving support”.

I hope that the protesters now protest outside the homes of the politicians who did their best to wind them up.

Typical tactic.....no evidence of the thing that got everyone hot under the collar so we revert to

Look over there something terrible is going on.....

Not saying I think the PM is blameless ( as no e of this story makes any sense,) but classic diversionary tactic.
