The protest started around 17.15/30 and most shops that end of the high st would be closing , The Poundland and Bella Pasta have closed for good , McDonalds was open , Leeds BS , Greggs , Post office , Dyers , Lloyd’s , Numerous charity shops , Jewellers , Estate agents etc would be closed by 1730 that just leaves some Vap shops that stayed trading .Videos of Epsom town centre look awful. Shops cannot trade people intimidated local economy destroyed.
The Police herded the protestors into the road and blocked to traffic , The protest was due to go to the Police station down a side street where the organiser was going to hand over a written request for information , If the Police had allowed that to happen hardly anyone would have known they were in the town .
The local pubs were busy by all accounts after ..
I think the upper end of the high st was closed to allow the Police to park their numerous vehicles and show off their riot shields etc TBH .
