Fair enough, he always looks a small chap.He is not "smallish" though. He is our tallest central Midfielder at 6'1". Only 5 outfieldplayers in the squad are taller - Sarr Richards Mateta Lecroix & Chabolah!
Transfermarkt has him at 1.85 m which equates to 6ft and 3/4 of an inch so 6ft 1in to the nearest inch.6’ 1” give over!
And to the nearest inch works for my stats 😂Transfermarkt has him at 1.85 m which equates to 6ft and 3/4 of an inch so 6ft 1in to the nearest inch.

Looks right but what about Doucoure if he's back to fitness? Devenny has done pretty well too.
Since Hughes does tend to tire the high pressing/closing down will probably lead to a few chances off the bench. We have genuine options so we might as well use them.
Yes I agree. He's really stepped up and deserves to play. The way he's performed it would be a big (and risky) call to drop him anyway.I just think Hughes deserves a run with ‘A’ team. He has been a rock for us when everybody else was falling apart. Never let us down. A fully fit Doucoure probably gets the start but he is a long way from fully fit. What a luxury though to have the likes of Doucoure, Lerma and Devenny on the bench… and a curse to see Kamada sitting there casting a shadow.
I’m not having it! 😂Transfermarkt has him at 1.85 m which equates to 6ft and 3/4 of an inch so 6ft 1in to the nearest inch.
To be fair, last season the passing side of his game wasn't good, often giving the ball away. This season, I think his passing has improved immeasurably.Unlike some of the fair weather scribes here I've always rated him. Might not have the sublime skills of an Eze or Olise, but he always gives the proverbial 100%, is a good and visionary passer of the ball and, like Munoz, appears to have a positive effect on teammates. Yes he collects yellows but he's not dirty, just sometimes overenthusiastic. Well done OG for backing him and, I suspect, helping develop him. Good test for vs the seaweed as the midfield will be a battle zone methinks.
Yes, fair points. Like some of the other players (especiallyJP) it says so much about OG (and the team behind him, ie PaddyMac et al) that he is fulfilling is maximum potential. Palace are always the poor cousins in the PL but we now have the manager although not the money, unlike a number of the bigger clubs who have the money but not the manager. To be fair, last season the passing side of his game wasn't good, often giving the ball away. This season, I think his passing has improved immeasurably.
Also, his confidence to drive forward has improved and maybe it's OG urging him to be more assertive when in possession.
I must say, I had him down as just dour and never envisaged a box-to-box playmaker.
Excellent.
No headache at all.I must admit I was never a fan of Hughes under Hodgson , always seemed to be the guy that lost his man , didn't or couldn't track back ect . Maybe Roys system was just too rigid for him .
Glasners style seems to suit him better a more fluid system where he can be forgiven for the odd lapse of concentration . Been very impressed with his contribution this season ,probably our most improved player in the last 12 months and will give Glasner a selection headache as to who plays with Wharton
Best player on the park today ..........Who's he to Hughesy ! .

Bit of a drawback for the Swindlehursts, Chattertons and Hinshelwoods though.Whenever the player gets a "sey" or "sie" from supporters at the end of their name, you know they've done well.
A nickname counts as similar.I believe at least two of these had one. I won't say I wasn't alive when they played for us - as I was, but I was too young to know too much about them.Bit of a drawback for the Swindlehursts, Chattertons and Hinshelwoods though.
