Heroes

Laurel & Hardy have fared better in the modern memory than Chaplin, which would have been considered a ridiculous notion a couple of generations ago.
They were nicer characters. Chaplin for all his underdog persona was always outsmarting everybody else or relying on sugary sentimentality. Stan & Ollie were always trying to succeed and do the right thing while being put upon by the whole world and everybody they met.
And they were just funny.
