Help with a list

Country
England
Alright lads, Sunday afternoon boredom has got the better of me and I'm embarking on making a list of the top 50 Palace players of all time and am looking for some suggestions. Making a shortlist currently so try and stay away from the obvious ones (Zaha etc) as I've probably already thought of them.

Cheers and UTFP

Salako, Cannon, MacArthur

John Jackson, Steve Kember, Don Rogers, Peter Taylor, Kenny Sansom, Vince Hilaire, Nigel Martyn, Andy Gray, Geoff Thomas, Andy Johnson, Mile Jedinak, Juiian Speroni, Wilfred Zaha,Joel Ward.

Some eyebrows may be raised at Ward, but he's been a model of consistency and exponent of outstanding effort for more than a decade.

100% agree with your assessment of Wardy. Any player who makes 328 appearances for any team has to be in the conversation of their top 50 players ever. Very underappreciated player.

More obvious - Vince Hilaire (my personal favourite), Michael Olise (to my mind the most talented player to play for us), Peter Taylor (capped for England whilst in the old 3rd division for Palace)
Less obvious - Billy Gilbert (not sure why his career never took off), Andy Gray, James McArthur, Marc Guehi (obviously class, but I think under-estimated by many fans)

In my early years I thought Mel Blyth, John Sewell and John Jackson always stood out, probably due to the amount of defending we had to do?
Rachid Harkouk got the pulse racing every time he got the ball and scored some cracking goals.
Personally I think the entire "team of the eighties" should be included too?

I wouldn't say Clive Allen as one of our top 50 but maybe some would.
Surely not the same Clive Allen that run the whole length of the Loftus Road pitch whilst sticking two fingers up at massed palace end ( after he had just scored the late winner in a fa cup quarterfinal tie).
Which kicked off the worst football violence I have witnessed at a Palace game (over 50 years following.)
And I was also at Coventry- the goal that never was !!
Bitter and twisted still Yes, dont get me started with Ian wright.

Favourite player- Has to be Vince Hilaire, never moaned about the world, just got on with it. Top bloke.

Before our time but Peter Simpson is still the record goalscorer (46 goals in 1930/31 alone).
Don Rogers, Alan Stephenson, Jimmy Cannon, Kenny Sansom, Peter Taylor, Ian Wright.

Michael Hughes ,Peter Nicholas ,Jimmy MacArthur ,Aki , Jeff Thomas ,Ray Houghton , Barry Bannon Dave Hopkins ,Bobby Kellard , Steve Kember .Darren Ambrose ,Adam Wharton , Andy Gray ,Sasa Curcic .

Indeed, I was at the game. Clive Allen was average for us for a season but pretty much better for every other club he played for.
