Has Parish ruined this season?

No, look at the topic title. Its bed wetting of the highest order.

Charity shield, European group stages. Kept all but 1 of the squad, and added 4/5 players.

I think it would be hard to argue that he's ruined the season
Football is an emotional game and this summer has stirred up emotions with fans from Europe to transfers

If a fan wants to argue the topic they can, that is one of the reasons this forum exists. We can all have our say.

I don’t believe he has ruined our season as long as Glasner is there I am confident we will do very well if he has the tools and a bit of luck. We can reflect back at the end of the season how we got on and if SP made the right calls

Not all clubs sell first.

In a back 3 your left sided player should be predominantly left footed. It’s a specialist position.

Eze wasn’t white I believe and no idea what his best foot was. That wasn’t part of my post so don’t know why you brought that up.

Have a good evening especially now that Guehi is staying!

My mistake. I thought you were talking about Pino.

Ironically the same point applies however, Guehi is right footed.

You heard that rumour as well?

I have my doubts personally.

The Parish bashing has started because last season and this season, Glasner has stated that any new players should be in place for pre season and ready to go come the first game. Glasner is a sensible chap and probably knew there was a chance Guehi would leave so where was his replacement in pre season? Where was the Eze replacement?
Parish has clearly ignored our coach, who in my opinion is the best man we've had, and that includes Coppell.
Today is The Steve Parish show as it always is come the f***ing vile transfer deadline day, therefore he deserves all the flack he will be getting.
The man is a complete pratt.
You seem to be under the impression, that Glasner calls the shots, well he doesn't. Glasner will walk away at the end of the season regardless, he is ambitious beyond our finances.
Parish and the board will still be here guiding the club forward, you can't deny the club has been on an upward path, since he took over.

In answer to the topic question, no.

But the main business should be sorting a replacement for Oliver Glasner. He's never stayed at a club longer than 2 years and I don't expect that will change.

He likes to make an impact, improve sides and move on to the next challenge.
I'm pretty sure the chance of his signing an extension are 0%

I wish him well.

One of the things we always seem to ignore is that players aren't commodities and they may actually not want to come to Palace. It seems like the Guehi, Gomez, Pavlovic triangle should have been able to be sorted but maybe Gomez didnt fancy Milan or Pavlovic didnt fancy Croydon. Leeds, for instance, have been after a half decent striker (including Uche) all summer but haven't persuaded anyone, probably most don't fancy a potential relegation fight.

Good point. If Roy kicks the bucket Parish will really have to think hard

Parish has been doing his job that’s all. It’s been a tough summer after an amazing end to last season. I hope he goes off for a well earned rest for a couple of weeks. Alls well that ends well. We have a decent squad for Ollie to work with, we’re playing good football and sitting pretty in the league and we have a European adventure to enjoy. By all accounts Ollie has fallen out with chairmen regularly over lack of signings and walked. This time his chairman listened to his argument and agreed to cancel the deal. Parish is the one who will have to answer to the shareholders for losing out on £35 million. Ollie got what he wanted and if anything will be less likely to take an offer from another club during the season. He owes it to parish and Guehi to stay now. Given the chat around him going to Manure, Parish may actually have saved our season!

No one is perfect and I do think that Parish has made a mistake not getting in a replacement for Guehi at the start of the window.

That said I am prepared to forgive him as his mistakes are outweighed by the good he has done for the club.

Time to move on, I expect Marc will be professional and we can put this to bed until January. Oh no that's only 4 months away.

I don't think we covered ourselves in glory this window,I thought we had turned a corner away from the Palace jokes but we have not helped our reputation one bit.

Liverpool hadn’t made an offer weeks/months ago. It was Liverpool who waited till the very last minute not Parish.

Exactly, they thought they could get away with a bit of brinksmanship. If anything happens to one of their fragile CB’s I imagine their fans will be furious.

Do u think 3 billionaire owners are worried about losing 35mill on our capt that is part of a great defence at mo or explaining I got u lot 35mill but we lost our greatest manager and our defence won’t be as good.
We wouldn’t be here cause of parish but he’s been bad this window , if he hasn’t sorted out MG replacement by Jan somebody needs to be slapped

100%, its why we are all here after all

My only issue is with the frankly immature title of the thread.

I'd hazard a guess that one of the reasons they're billionaires is that they very much worry about dropping £35m.
