I saw Gerry Francis play for Palace and you could see his class even if he was then past his best (when he was in that great QPR team of 75-76 and Captain of England). I think he's worth a mention here.I have been thinking about who is the greatest ever player to have played for us.
I don’t just mean who was our greatest ever player, but who was the greatest player that was either brilliant before joining us, or a player that went on to bigger and better things and made a success of their career.
'Very good' may be pushing it. He is currently having an outstanding season but is only seventh on the betting odds . Of those ahead of him in the betting, Haaland and Vitinha are only a year older and Yamal is six years younger, Of course, if Bayern win the Champions League and he is MOT at the World Cup it would be a different storyThere is a very good chance that Michael Olise will go on to be a BallonD'or winner. Potentially multiple times. Would be hard to argue at that point.

Fair play to him - he picked a haircut and kept it for 50 years. He was definitely class in that QPR team, but Palace’s greatest ever player??? 😳🤣🤣

He had that funny little glitch as well, whenever he was being interviewed or doing the pundit thing he’d glance to the side every sentence as if a firework had gone off or something 🤣Fair play to him - he picked a haircut and kept it for 50 years.

I saw him miss a penalty at the clock end Highbury, Sansom scored, 1-1 at the time, it hardly reached the goalI saw Gerry Francis play for Palace and you could see his class even if he was then past his best (when he was in that great QPR team of 75-76 and Captain of England). I was at that game, I was right down the front and I nearly cried because the coppers were standing in the way and I missed our goal, people were shouting at them to move because the kids down the front couldn’t see, but you know what the fascist arrogant old bill were like back then, they just turned round and sneered at usI saw him miss a penalty at the clock end Highbury, Sansom scored, 1-1 at the time, it hardly reached the goal
I think our greatest ever player needed to play more games for us than Michael Olise did. So I’ll say Kenny Sansom and Ian Wright are our greatest ever. Had a massive impact for us over a number of years and went on to bigger and better things elsewhere
England
I’ll raise you Stephen Leahy 🤣We had them all in the mid 80s, Gary Stebbing, David Lindsay and the mighty Tony Mahoney - fire and skill 🔥
