Gorton & Denton By-election

There is an awful lot to unpack from last night, firstly the left wing vote did very well, the right got brutally fisted. The new parties did well that has been a trait of by elections from times immemorial. There was a lot of tactical voting, the Muslims voted for the Jewish boys (Polanski) party. Farage immitated Trump and ditched his toys out of his pram and yelled out the Election was corrupt and he objected to "sectarian " voting apparently people with various skin tones voted. The Tories with 1.9% of the vote lost their deposit and some idiot called me delusional. When the Green votes come back to Labour we will do very well indeed. 👍

What makes me so furious about this result - quite apart from the fact that the Greens under that toothless moron have such damaging plans and ideas - is that they won the election thanks to the strong Muslim vote.

And there was I believing that Gorton & Denton was in England.

Do you have any issue with illegal voting? Simple question

Thats great news, they will split the vote of the left at the next general election and reform will win.

The protection afforded to civil servants in terms of dismissal needs to be changed so that anyone who fails to carry out or obfuscates instructions to effect policy can be dismissed more easily.

The rules are quite different to those in the private sector.
I would not deny that, there are a lot of time servers in public service but on the flip there are also too many in power who find it really easy to blame a civil servant for their own ineptitude.

Well, you have a lot to catch up on. General Gordon has died at Khartoum, he caught one in the Sudan very painful! Women have rebelled a bit of cat 'n mouse and by jolly jingo the blighters have only given them the vote!!! The world keeps spinning and changing should we start a nostalgia thread and march on Empire Day? I think i'll buy some shares in the Suez Canal now that Frenchie diplomat fellow has got his finger out.

The issue is that Labour would probably have preferred it if Reform had won, as they are already fighting against them. A mid-term loss is almost guaranteed for the Labour party so no surprise, but they now appear to have a strong opposition to the left of them as well as the right. I agree that the votes will probably come back to Labour in 3 years time but it is what damage Reform and the Greens do to Labour in the meantime. Whilst the Tories are currently the official opposition, the momentum of both far left and far right (terms I am using only to show the direction of travel), indicates a fragmenting of the traditional voting patterns. The May local elections will be telling.

the Labour Politician's knives will be out for Keir. Politically he is already a dead man walking.
And so, who to replace him ? David Lammy ? i hope so. Cos c'mon, i mean, anybody could confuse Marie Antoinette for Mare Curie.

If the Greens win it's an example of what happens when the white percentage in an area drops to such an extent that the right can't win.

It's been the left's playbook for decades and in parts of the country it's already true.
If this isn't a wake up call about the threat of Islamism then nothing will be.

Apologies to Wisbech because he won't really understand the graph on the left because apparently those people don't exist....even though he is one.
Ignorance personified! I understand it perfectly well.

Of course these people exist. They are simply being incorrectly bundled and labelled.

It’s the impact of that which isn’t understood.

How is the local politics in London Luton or Ballyhaunis, Ireland ? for reasons i find difficult to understand, the local house prices seem to be very low compared to towns nearby ?

its almost as if nobody wants to buy a house there ?

After last night the only one in fear of the sack must be Badenoch an unbelievably bad showing even Willo has difficulty defending the indefensible.
