United's only hope is to bring back Ferguson!
Mind you these days, his hairdryer treatment wouldn't work.
The players would be off to their agents, refuse to train and demand massive pay offs to leave.
For every Guehi there are 10 Isacs or Wissas.

They should have gone on their knees and begged Moyes to come back. He was hand picked by Ferguson but back then they believed they had a divine right to be champions every season.
 
Every coach has his preferred way of playing. The good ones have the ability to tweak their system when required. And build the squad with players that can implement his tactics. Compare with Amorin who resolutely sticks to his ' Plan A ' with players that struggle to play in it !

Glasner drills his players so that each and every one of them is aware of their responsibilities. As did Roy before him, although Roys was a more cautious approach.

That's the upside of having a smaller squad. Obviously it's preferable that squad has quality too and I think that's been the recent concern.

Esse has found both the Premier League and his manager far more demanding than what he was used to at Millwall. I don't think sending him out on loan would have helped him in those respects. He needs to integrate into the tactics and gain Glasners trust.

As for Glasners future, I think his next move will be back to Europe.

Not according to the bbc. On their main rolling sports news(what has gone wrong with manure) reporters & a few pundits are saying "get Glasner" as he is the only one who can turn them around.

Could see them going for Xavi or possibly Zidane, even Nuno. There's also Southgate and Dyche who probably aren't sitting by the phone.
 
Man U might be the team that finally pushes the player power issue over the brink.
First point is that players have to try and they are not.
Glasner couldn't force them to do that. A couple of managers have dropped people: clearly for this reason. That hasn't worked.
I guess if you get 100k plus for a few years why give a f*** anyway.
Transfers and wages need to be looked at properly but I'm not sure they ever will.

A 0-0 under Roy, really was a 0-0 zzzzz and quite often it would turn into a 0-1 at selhurst. Once the other team went in front you knew that was game over. With Ollie we at least create chances and have efforts on target even in defeat……..which I know the word defeat is a distant memory 😀

Without Eze, we have to be precise - almost pinpoint accurate with runs and passes. We're not there yet. Add in Wharton and his couple of worldy passes a game and replace him with Lerma and again you see we would have to be entirely accurate.
We're not.
What Olly did was get it upfield faster second half. If you looked at Lerma he started firing it in to feet. Then we created chances. So Olly did change things.
I agree with people about Devenny and Uche so let's see what Olly thinks over the next few games.

I was concentrating on the cutting edge to cut through a stubborn Roy like defensive unit, i know the other two are very valuable to our efforts.

I agree with both observations. Glasner's system relies on every player knowing what their role is and sticking to it. especially when we don't have the ball (which is more often the case than not). One aspect of this is each player knowing when they have to cover for a colleague. There is room for showing flair in the right attacking situations - From the little I've seen of Esse, I get the impression he's trying too hard to show off his skills and doing so in the wrong situations. He needs to show Glasner he can do the right things in the system and gain the manager's trust.

As for Glasner's next job, it could well be at Bayern if Kompany doesn't deliver the right trophies this year.

You haven’t understood Glasner at all have you, he is completely obsessed with his system, which is superb for a club like us, tolerant fans, low expectations, he is clever enough to know that he picks the club, the club doesn’t pick him

I don’t think so either, Pino was good, had chances which on another day might have gone in, Eze was prone to miss chances, especially early last season, two against the spammers, against United as well off the top of my head, which cost us points in our poor start to the season
