Glasner to reject a new deal?

Younger supporter here .Think that we dont need to "stay in our lane" per say but we do need to make sure we are able to finamcially stable and the gambles Glasner is trying to put on the board could have a potentially detrimental impact on the club however he would face none of said consequences. The club has to come over the manager everytime.

I am not sure that I would use the word gamble, although for sure it could be said that any transfer has an element of gambling involved, that the chosen target(s) will perform to the desired level, become worth the amount that was paid, provide a sell on fee etc - Chelsea / Liverpool / Man Utd have all spent large & returns on that spend have been debatable.

We are (or were up until recently) involved in 4 tournaments, expecting to go deep into the latter stages of the 3 cup competitions, involving 38 league games, at least 6 Conference games (more if we got into the playoffs, which we have) & say another 8 in the 2 domestic cups - so realistically somewhere between 50 - 56 games in the season -

Challenges: Injuries, suspensions, players losing form, Afcon, players being transferred out, etc -

From what I've read & for sure I dont know any more than anyone else, (probably less in most cases) but I haven't seen any stories of OG wanting to take wild punts on speculative targets at vastly inflated prices, all I have seen is him making it known that he expected the club to provide him the resources required to do the job properly in a timely manner - now for sure OG version of unfolding events is probably going to differ from the clubs, but whilst much is being made of it in the media, I don't think the 2 parties are large distances apart, probably the difference between OG staying or going is going to be maybe 2 or 3 players, (we have a squad that could be described as minimalist or even threadbare at the moment) so its not completely unreasonable.

What will be interesting is that discussion where they get down to the nitty gritty of what its going to take to get him to stay & can we do it in the January window - my guess is that SP will before committing to going into the market will have a clear plan / agreement with OG, if we do this he will stay ( as much as possible) & if we dont then he will pack his bags in May.

The whole getting a bunch of players in that don't suit the new manager for sure is a risk, but with a bit of sensible planning hopefully can be avoided, of course, no one can safeguard against all risks, such as (for example) 5 seconds after the chosen new players arrive at copers cope, Bayern inexplicably part company with Kompany (lol) & OG is on his bike to Gatwick - absolutely its a risk but these things do happen.

If anyone wants an example of how not to run a football club give #WHUFC a call. Absolute shambles. Sinking into the abyss after years of poor decision-making and terrible recruitment.

Agree with most of what you say, I think it is likely that we will finish 10-15 (it's a law of Nature) as any new recruits may not have swift acclimatization - none of the summer signings have consistently impressed
I would not say winning the Conference League would be a miracle; we are betting favourites
I thought Benitez was excellent the other day.

One imagines he’s been well paid to the point that he doesn’t need to worry about money. It’s easy not to be motivated by it when you’ve already got a serious chunk in the bank.
For some managers (Sam Allardyce? Terry Venables?) you always asked how much is enough. Theres a difference between being well paid and satisfied and being well paid but always wanting more.
Glasner seems perfectly happy with what Palace are paying him. I doubt he'd have agreed to join Palace in the first place if not.

Its about being realistic mate. The evidence is overwhelmingly siding with a summer departure. I dont need to delve into all the reasons because deep down you already know them.
Ok,
So you dont want to go into all the many many reasons why you say he is leaving. So just give me one. Just one reason that Glasner is definitely 100% leaving. But you have to come up with one that the click bait, gossip monger, trouble stirring media haven't told you because they'd prefer to see him at the club that they support, a top 6 club or they simply hate Palace and just dont want to see a manager of his quality with us.

Rubbish. He signed a two and a half years contract and has shown no indication of wanting to break it unlike several of our players who have made it known that they want to move on to bigger clubs
Glasner has been subject of much interest from bigger clubs than Palace. He turned down Bayern Munich because he had already joined Palace and would not break his agreement with us (despit it being rumoured to be him dream job). He has since turned down approaches from both Lipsieg as well as Leverkussen. Also he was strongly linked with Man United a few months back and when questioned said he is happy at Crystal Palace and not interested in talking about other jobs.
I'd say in this day and age Glasner is much more loyal than most.

This can be discussed and discussed and discussed….

My opinion is that if he really wanted to stay, he would have signed an extension by now. I totally understand everyone has their own point of view, but I don’t believe for one minute the stories relating to Glasner has not had the time to discuss the future with Parish.

Being the astute businessman he is, I’m sure Parish has/is trying everything he can to keep Glasner, but it may just be simply he does not want to stay.

I said it in a previous response, I thank Glasner from the bottom of my heart for the success he has brought us, but if it’s not meant to be, then so be it. Palace will move on with other another appointment.

Suspect this is the case. Players and managers doing well outside the big clubs confuse these experts and upset their well ordered view of the world.

Agree with most of this. I think its also worth pointing out that the pressure is definitely on our new(ish) DoF Matt Hobbs to identify and deliver affordable but qualty players that Glasner can use in his squad.
Its arguable that (though recently he has been forced to use them) OG is not reall impressed with either Uche or Esse. Its not just about delivering 2 or 3 reinforcements to the squad. Hobbs is going to need to get these signings right. Not just bodies in the door but real ballers that can slot straight in. Like Pino.

Which club has Glasner stayed at long term?

Pino and ballers in the same paragraph is hilarious

None . He as history of falling out with directors and our Director has history of falling out with demanding Managers , call me a pessimist but the future doesn't look good .

Even good managers have blind spots.

We started with a front 3 of Pino, Devenny and Mateta which isn't going to trouble many Premier League defences.
We finished the game with Mateta, Nketiah, Uche and Esse on the field in I'm not sure what formation and looked like a disorganised rabble.

The display did give some credence to the argument that Glasner has one way of playing and I'm not sure even sure the players knew where they were supposed to be playing in the last 15 mins.

In fact if any team were going to score it looked more likely to be Spurs.

In fairness to Glasner, we are missing key players, but with this in mind I'm not sure why we're trying the same system in the absence of key components.
Some muddled or stubborn thinking or perhaps it's fatigue too?
