Roy was totally gone at the end of that season, mentally and physically f++++d, his age had caught up on him, he saved us the previous season from that other buffoon Vieira, should have quit then.

Hodgson, rarely had the services of Eze, and Olise, through injuries. Munoz, and Wharton, only came in the early weeks of Glasner, it all came together in a way it never did for Hodgson.

Hodgson might be well travelled, but he won nothing of note in his career - you mention managing England and Liverpool but he failed drastically at both jobs.

Glasner, despite managing for a few decades less, has already won an FA Cup and 2x European trophies.

Roy may not have won ‘anything’ but he kept us in the Premiership for four years with next to or little investment with anaging squad…

It was only aging because he refused to play young players. He wanted to drop Eze and I suspect he was overruled! 19 year old Olise was lucky Vieira was manager when he became fit enough to play and was established when Roy had him for the final 10 games of the season. Yes he kept us in the EPL for four years, which was the minimum expected, but he left the Club in a worse position than Vieira had.

I’m merely commenting that not many managers of this generation could have done the same or survived without losing there job..
