Glasner to Forest

Whilst it’s unquestionably true that the last 18 months have been the most successful in my long experience of being a Palace supporter. Which dates back more than 70 years. Whether the most enjoyable is another question.

I think though that Glasner, whilst obviously a good man manager, is being given far too much credit. Parish, with Freedman securing the players, built the team. A team with character, with leaders and skills.

Glasner obviously saw us a stepping stone and jumped off hoping to land on a bigger one. The only big thing he has landed on is Forest’s owner and the cheques he can write.

Glasner’s behaviour early this year, when he clearly angled to get sacked, destroyed my opinion of him. I don’t blame him for deciding to get very rich. I do blame him for the lies. I think Freedman left because of Glasner and this will likely impact us far more in the long run than winning three trophies.

I don’t get to watch games live very often these days but if I was there on Sunday I would neither cheer nor boo him. I would ignore him and hope the players, our Board and support staff all do the same.
If that's true he will be angling to return...

And be welcomed back with open arms from a majority of the fan base.

Trouble is, we filled his shoes.

I'm more worried about how our defence is going to be opened up by the teams you mention - if Forest took even half of their chances in the first half it could have been a very different day.
But they didn't, Glasner bought a crap CF, and plays MG out of position, Sage affected the team during the game, played longer in the second half, and all match quicker than Forest, to the tackle, i am hopefull that Sage Could be decent.

Steady Lanzo your starting to mellow towards Sage 🤣

I don’t tend to blame the manager when a team create loads but miss a bunch of sitters - that doesn’t seem a very sensible analysis.

I hope he is Great, he seems to manage a game well, the quality of central defenders is not what it was, but defence is more about coaching a unit than individual players, having said that they are not footballing CDs so a bit more direct, like the second half seems more sensible, at the moment, don't ask players to do what they are not good at, i think he is learning on the job, and doesn't seem too stubborn.

And his team beat Glasner’s Forest scumbags, which to me puts a lot of credit in the bank for him

This may be true, it may not but if you think Freedman leaving is going to impact upon the club more than a successful manager you are wrong. Freedman gets way too much credit for the players signed during his time at the club. Many he had nothing to do with except negotiate the contract prior to them signing on the dotted line. Since his departure we have already started bringing in quality at decent prices.
Pino and Timber are starting to look like bargains. Kalaili could well become a huge player for us. There are others too.

I suppose you could argue about how much finishing practice they do. But we don't know so that would be pointless. There do tend to be finishing tactics/ instructions in games - but they tend to be about the goalie's strengths and weaknesses and taking shots from particular sides or distances. (For instance long shot frequency). But again, we can wonder all we like. The players missed.
The one thing I would wonder is the connection between us doing it last season with Glasner. And Forest doing it this season. I guess I could watch out for their Xg if I were truly bothered.
