Not saying it's happening, but... Apparently last night Ed Aarons asked him about his future and Glasner replied:

"I think it is the wrong moment to discuss my future. It is not important - now it is 100% focus, hopefully until the 27th of May with a huge party, and then we will see that I can party as well."

It's obviously still heavily odds on that he leaves and winning the Conference would get him bigger offers. However, throughout this I have just had a niggling feeling that this situation might not be as clear cut as first thought and would be surprised if behind the scenes Parish hadn't at least broached the idea of him reconsidering.
 
It ain't over til the final whistle. The owners will do what's best for the club, so nothing should come as a surprise.
 
What's all this? Speculation that Ollie might actually stay with us? An interesting possibility, and if he did renew his contract I'd be delighted.

We went through a period in the doldrums when he grumbled about losing key players and we had injury woes to contend with, but he has recently demonstrated how valuable his management is to our club. Surely even Lanzo can see that. Our performance last night was 'exemplary' said the Mail, and I agree. It had Glasner's fingerprints all over it.

I've recently been wondering where he might end up, preferring the idea that he'd go abroad. Staying at Selhurst would be the cherry on the cream of the Conference cake.
 
When Glasner announced his decision about leaving at the end of the season I was rather in the camp that he should have packed his bags and gone then. However, that was a bit of a knee jerk reaction on my part and I am now pleased he stayed. He seems to have the team fully behind him and we are on the cusp of winning another trophy.

Would I like him to change his mind in respect of leaving though? I'm not sure. The worry is that he could repeat the whole episode if things weren't going well next season. But if he was to stay, it would give us some continuity. He might be able to persuade one or two of the potential leavers to remain at the club. I am a bit worried about the prospect of both Ollie leaving, and a number of important players departing as well, which would require something of a squad rebuild.
 
I've made my views on OG clear on here; but have to concede that he is the best option for next season and beyond if we can persuade him. The problem is this only has a chance of happening if we win the european conf and get to Europe again next year. But this only means we're going to have the same issues next season as this one - if not worse - without considerable squad investment in the summer .. which history suggests will fall short.
Kamada and Mateta are off, Wharton; maybe too. All of a sudden that's a lot of additions needed to fill a squad that has proven to be short staffed in europe this season already.
 
Doesn't anybody understand that he has no plan for teams defending deep, he has had 2 years to think of one, last night was a Glasner masterclass of counter attack against a team with 70% persession, but unfortunately we play at home like, Dulwich Hamlet.

'Oliver Glasner was asked if he could end up reversing his decision to leave Crystal Palace.

“No,” he said.'

The patronising tone does you no favours.

The Premier League’s best manager, Pep Guardiola has also struggled at times to break down teams and to give a few examples, this season alone his side have drawn against Forest, West Ham, and Sunderland and lost to Spurs, Brighton, Villa, Bodo Glimt & Bayer Leverkusen.

Pep has spoken this season about the challenges of breaking teams down that sit in deep and is on record as saying it is not that easy…and that’s coming from the best in the business.

I personally think Glasner staying is in the best interest of all parties involved.

There's little doubt in my mind Lanzo, that you wildly underestimate the quality of Ollie's coaching. OK, so we've struggled against teams that play a solid defensive game, but frankly, so do Manchester City.

If he were to stay, Palace would gain in strength and players like Kamada, who was outstanding last night, would probably stay too. Continuity, in what's been the most successful period in our club's history, is the key to continued success. We have to hope that Mr Parish is able to apply all his sales skills, powers of persuasion and financial acumen in his efforts to keep the 'gaffer' for a while longer.
 
If we win the cup we will be in the Europa next season. We will certainly be needing to spend heavily to prepare ourselves for the next leg up. We have to realise the salaries required to get the players (and management ) to succeed. Plus of course the transfer fees.
If our owners are of a mind to compete properly, Im sure there would be a way to encourage OG and our flighty top players to stay and enjoy the future at CPFC. Ultimately it's all about money. Well, it is Moneyball in the Prem now.

What we're observing is a couple about to divorce but enjoying one last European sojourn with both remembering the good times and capable of enjoying a few final magic moments.

It's likely that Glasner already has a new partner lined up.
He has to feed the mouths of his extended family (his team of coaches he need to know where they will be living in a couple of months).
Palace are apparently dating extensively at present with 6 new potential partners to be whittled down.
The new partner will also have to be content to adopt Paddy McArthy as a stepson.

Surely the way to penetrate the low block, (ten men back teams) is surely to start shooting as often as possible from distance. So keeping the game simple, we need to find players with a good long shot and encourage them to shoot. Its not rocket science.

Did Palace/Glasner tell you this personally? Call me a deluded optimist, but him not wanting to talk about his future, when he's seemingly confirmed it months prior, is a sign his Palace career might not be dead in the water.

I couldn't care a less, but it is still a fact, Pep tries different tactics, it is not rocket science, ball in box as many times as possible, bypass midfield, it is worth a try, just for the home games against low block teams, when there are 10 minutes left, and a goal is needed most teams hoof it forward, why, because they need a goal, if that is the case after 80mins, why is it not the case after 10mins?

That is fine, it is all about opinions, next season when he is at a top club, and we have a new manager will be a good idea how good the squad is, and how good Glasner is.

We’ll have the best manager in the Championship at the end of next season. If she doesn’t get fired for taking us there.
