Glasner Out

So 79 better than both of them, FFS

Hope this helps Lanzo.
The 80th percentile means
a value is higher than 80% of all other data points in a set. It indicates a position of top performance, such as scoring better than 80% of test-takers or being taller than 80% of a population. It is a measure of relative standing, not a percentage score.

Key details about the 80th percentile:
  • Definition: 80% of the data points fall below this value, while 20% fall above it.
  • Performance: It generally represents a high, but not top 1% or 5%, performance.
  • Example: If you are in the 80th percentile for income, you earn more than 80% of people.
  • Context:
It is commonly used in test results, growth charts, and, and data analysis to show how a single data point compares to a larger group
    .
    Difference from Percentage
It is important to note that the 80th percentile is not the same as scoring 80% on a test. You could score a 60% on a test but, if everyone else scored lower, you could still be in the 80th percentile.

The point I was contesting was one that suggested our wing backs do not play high up enough - I was simply disproving that.

Mitchell set up the winner against Wolves.

they were down to 10 and sitting very deep at the time which encouraged mitchell to get forward more.

However, in the first half hour at old trafford (the theatre of cheats) i thought both wing backs got forward more than the had recently.

Making it easier to understand, according to the Premier League Mitchell is the 8th best crosser of the ball in open play and 3rd best when it comes to English players. For duels won he is the 27th best out of 129 and 11th best English players. His duels won stats are worse this year because of his more advanced role. I would be more than happy seeing him in his old defensive role watching players like Salah, Saka, Gordon etc struggle to beat him.

He is, on the quiet, one of our real stars.

I just saw this on newsnow , dont know if there's any truth in it . Why Crystal Palace opted not to appeal Maxence Lacroix's red card
I was of the opinion that Lacroix would only miss one game for his red card - not three as three is reserved for violent conduct etc., which, of course, was not Lacroix's crime.

I suspect the reason we didn't appeal was that Lacroix would still have had a red card had the penalty not been given and the referee deemed that he had denied a goal scoring opportunity. Cunha did have a goal scoring opportunity when the foul started. The subsequent theatricals don't change that in my view.

I too like him playing as a fullback and would prefer to see him playing there with perhaps Pino in front of him and Guessand in front of Pino. I don’t rule out Munoz being a decent straightforward right back either. Let’s face it, full backs are not chained to defensive duties in any set up provided there is an understanding with the midfielder in front of them when they go forward.

I genuinely think that the players we have are more suited to a different style of play than our current set up. In particular I think this would benefit, Mitchell, Pino, Kamada, Wharton, Guessand and Johnson. It would also mean we have sufficient cover at centre half whereas we are struggling at present.

I am intrigued to see how a new manager sets them up.

I feel like his crossing is poor on the eye so this stat is quite interesting.

Whatever it is it ain’t working. We can analyse it all we like however goals have dried up from our set up and that is indisputable.
I think that's perhaps more to do with the loss of top class creative attacking no10 players in Olise and then Eze than to do with the wingback system or even the wingbacks themselves, although Christ only knows how many miles Mitchell and Munoz have clocked up over Glasners time. Couldn't blame them if they're knackered.

Regarding the no10s, Eze and Olise would not only dribble past people and also get goals, they had lovely awareness and weight of pass. They were both equally dangerous playing high and wide and running at defenders or dropping deep into the hole to collect the ball and create.

Last year Sarr changed the dynamic by running behind the opponents defence more, but we still had Eze to see passes. I don't think any of Sarr, Johnson, or Nketiah are creative passers with vision. Guessand I'm really not sure about yet. Pino I presume was supposed to be a creative force but he's really disappointed.

I think we've got exactly the right sort of players for the Glasner 343 system apart from in those key no10 slots, and that's why we are so stodgy and predictable going forwards. My hope is that the same players, especially Johnson, will be more effective in a different system.

Just looked up our last 40 lge games we won 14 drew 13 lost 13 not a bad return only losing 33% .

Then if you put cup matches in from same period 10 , 6 , 3 , games that went to pens I counted as draws so brings it down to only losing 27% in all games played ,

for a one trick pony he has had alot of success with it ,.
still will never forgive him for throwing the kids under the bus after Sunderland game
