Glasner Out

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you have to make your first post at some point? To get this right I have been going Palace for years, the Burnley record attendance and went every game in the cup last year even away at Doncaster.
Away for 9.0 against the scousers and the previous 2 cup finals and the replay.
So therefore I am naturally biased to supporters who really know the club’s history and respect the fact we would have been relegated a couple of times in the last 13 years if it wasn’t for Parish.
I trust in the club’s decisions so I just do not like the trend of social media and fans forcing the ownership’s hand.
If was a lot of the people on heres own money they wouldn’t dream of wasting it. So as I say like the fact Parish weighs up the best thing to do in his opinion and would still back the club and players 100% even if I disagree. That’s because he is not only a fan but also not fool and .
I always stay until the end regardless of the score unlike infact Brighton fans and will always clap the team at the end too.
Fortunately where I am in the Holmesdale we don’t get a lot of haters and boos.
When we do we always put them in their place by reminding them of facts.
Its only by losing games that you respect and enjoying winning and that’s part of why Palace fans have been so respected by pretty much every neutral club in world.
There is zero chance we won’t progress tonight unless he plays a side like he did at Macclesfield.
Of course if we had players back like we have now he wouldn’t have.
That was shocking but in fairness we were never going to win the FA cup 2 years running were we?
It’s took 150 years so lets be realistic at least 😊
Ps you are not talking to someone who watches matches on a bent firestick, I actually go
So your just another super fan on here to criticise people who have been chewing the cud over Palace for donkeys years.

I couldn’t give a damn if you’ve been to every match for 50 years (impressed but still couldn’t give a damn), you are just one person, one opinion. Don’t expect masses of support on here for your notion that we have no chance of going out tonight. With Glasner still in charge anything could and probably will happen.

Welcome to the forum, Gazza, I suggest you don’t post again until you have got the hang of being totally negative, particularly about our manager. Oh, and common sense is frowned upon.
Yes it appears to be.
As some people have short memories, I mean if you want to be factual Big Sam is the best England manager ever with a 100% record. Of course common sense doesn’t or shouldn’t need an explanation for that lol 😂. Stats like Sam's cant actually be denied on paper but some on here just pick a segment number of games to suit their narrative

IF (big if) Palace were to win the Conference League, finish in the top 8 or both Glasner will undeniably go down in history as our best ever manager by a country mile but the Lanzo fella and all his creepy little mates will still find ways to discredit him.

Statistically he may go down as our best ever manager, however due to his petulance and sulking he will be remembered as that prat who helped us win the cup.

Oh dear you didn't get off to a good start by upsetting Lanzo and his sycophant by saying something positive about Oliver Glasner who in their opinion is the spawn in the devil 😀

Don't let it put you off though as most of us are much friendlier
i know who the truthful ones are, and who change their minds more than their pants.

Hi Sir Gareth.

IF (big if) Palace were to win the Conference League, finish in the top 8 or both Glasner will undeniably go down in history as our best ever manager by a country mile but the Lanzo fella and all his creepy little mates will still find ways to discredit him.
No he won't, not even the top 5, best squad we ever had and we finished 12th, and are currently on a fantastic 15 game run despite spending 90m, good isn't he, you wouldn't know a decent manager if you fell over him.

Glasner just apologised for his previous faux-pas in previous interviews. So, fair fv.cks to him. He says it how he sees it. Not a diplomat, but a football fella.
Exactly as I said earlier today, he has been brilliant for our club and I doubt we will have a better manager for the next 2 decades. He has earned the right to get pissed off with the negativity. You sign a contract you see it out and there maybe disappoint from us as fans naturally but he has met his obligations and gave us things we have dreamed of. I think we win this too if I am honest, and if we really pick up our form I think we win it quite comfortably 😊 ps by the way the fans both ours and theres were a true credit to football tonight. Incredible atmosphere

Are you totally blind to what is going on? He’s the one who has created the negativity by announcing he’s leaving midway through the season, slagging off the management, the players and finally the fans.

The only reason he has apologised is because Parish has seen through his act of trying to get out with an early pay off and effectively forced him to see out his contract.

The guy is a weasel of the highest order and there are many fans who see through his behaviour. You are entitled to your opinion on this but I’m certainly not changing mine.

Firstly if you were there last night the fans love him. Getting sacked early with so little to run is peanut's in regards to a pay off so that theory holds no water. When your contract expires you are entitled to leave and you don’t need to ever be pressured into signing an early renewal. Fans pressure may think so but it’s not the case, Marc was always leaving as was Ebs but no one was on their backs and Marc only left in January so the club got a least something from the brilliant calming professional he was. Olise went but we were far better as all round team with Sarr and the FA cup proves that so thats shrewd business. Also Olise was very injury prone and Palace need complete team players and not too many luxury players who don’t work back.
Sarr, Munoz, Max and the fantastic Wharton are great players. The list goes on, we have a very good team and it was Glasner who made them all gel and has even made some of our fairly good players leaps and bounds better. To be honest if the fans hadn’t given him such a hard time and we get the new signs in up to scratch I think he may have even had stayed if win in Europe and finish the PL well. Saying you are not renewing your contract gets snow balled into I am definitely leaving just because you won’t renew it a year before it runs out. Of course he will leave now because of the backlash but he won’t leave for anyone the right job must be up for grabs. He may take a few months off until that opportunity arises (or gets sacked because of the negativity) but he won’t just go anywhere because he is a quality manager. He knows it and shows an ambitious arrogance which I think you need as a manager and players respect that. Most fans do too, yes of course we don’t like it (as it is happening to us) but in all honesty most would want him to stay. If they don’t they are delusional. You imagine if we got that complete dick Gary O’Neil. I am not trying to change anyones opinion on here just expressing my own. Don’t take it personally because I still believe in banter and a hint of sarcasm at times so if my answers come across that way I apologise. I am very passionate about our club and I realise the negative ones on here are too but we express it at times differently. I do know the history of our club and after 50 years of going to games the Glasner period is one we will likely never ever better and is by far and away the best and will never be forgotten 😊 Positive energy helps players not negativity just a thought remember last night

I think that to be honest we need to just accept that he's staying now barring a complete meltdown.
He and the owners will probably argue that our form has turned around to some extent and we've lost just one in the last six.
Obviously massive amounts of context required there. The three wins in that run were against Wolves, Zrinjski and Brighton. The draws were against Zrinjski and ten man Forest. And the defeat was at home to Burnley from a two goal advantage.
So we haven't really played a decent team and frankly should have won more. Also, the performances have been generally abject.
However, we're through to the next round of the cup, have a theoretically good tie, even if they've already beaten us, and there are some positive signs with Strand Larsen and Guessand.
Honestly, I am still furious with him and think he should have gone. But the reality is that he's staying so maybe it's time to just get behind everyone, see if we can blag a European trophy and then hope that we don't appoint Southgate in the summer.

It can be the best period but has been said loads of times, with no acknowledgement from you, he announced he's leaving. This was unnecessary and what a surprise - coincidentally started a bad run.
Our only good performance since was beating Brighton. Which suggested to me that if the players had tried harder in other matches: we could have done better.
This is before taking into account how different tactics may have helped. The very first point is the biggest though. He could have just kept his mouth shut. Particularly to the players. They didn't need to know he wouldn't renew. It was bound to affect their performances and it clearly has.
You seem to believe you speak for the majority of the fans but I don't think you do. I think the majority would have accepted him being sacked after his outburst. I also think the majority now are just putting up with it and making the best of it. There's nothing any of us can do about his ridiculous decisions: all we can do is support the team. Glasner has burned a lot of bridges with our fanbase and he'll remain a dividing and controversial figure now. Which is pretty evident on here.
Consider this: that was not any fans or the club's doing. It was in fact Glasner's own choice to put his decisions above the needs of the club or the fans.
You're blaming fans for not being enamored with him. For not kissing his feet. He's just a man who decided he didn't like a job and even said he didn't care. If that sits well with you and you think that's how to motivate a squad, then that's your opinion. It clearly isn't - even to the most diehard Glasner fan. The biggest defenders of him on here mostly wanted him gone some time ago too.
I'll go as far to say nearly all our recent performances have been poor. Brighton was the exception. That's where maybe the players took some responsibility for a change. Imagine our reactions had they played how they have been for every other game for the last three months. It would not have been acceptable. Parish's inbox would have been fuller of unread emails than it already is.
First half and second half even last night, with the lack of energy and effective movement displayed. There were grumblings all over the ground as defender passed to defender. It was deja vu to the end of Roy's tenure but with twice as good a squad. Make of that what you will Sir Gareth.
As the plane crashes I hear you say, "that was a nice holiday anyway". It's called toxic positivity if you really care to hear about it.

Support the team, not the want away manager. That's it in a nutshell really. He won't be here next season so make the most of it and get that signed selfie.

On another completely theoretical (delusional) note. Let's say by some ridiculous chance him and Parish sorted their differences out and he decided to sign a new two year deal. How would you feel about that?
stranger things have happened & in the event the cup was won, it would be more of a possibility (although still unlikely)
Not sure on my own feelings regarding OG staying .

Last night our players started to sing a bit of a tune again. Nothing like when Olise Eze etc were on the pitch, but a sound solid performance for some of the game.
Although we used very similar tactics to normal (other than our wing backs holding back a bit), Hats off to our coaching staff for getting us revved up again. We were definitely starting to get back on it again.
So well done OG and team. Speak less and do more on the coaching field. Far better outcome.

This made me laugh thanks. Even though I want OG to go.
I too welcome new posters so Gazza go for it. If you have the hide of a rhino you will be ok. Go on the politics forum 👍
