Glasner Out

A rumour that there may be further discussions. After the match, Glasner and Parish seen going into Brighton Travelodge, where there was a reservation made for the Honeymoon Suite.
Can't say anything else, but likely a statement early next week. 😀

Not much discussion - it's hard to talk with your mouth full.
Of food. Obviously.

The only reason OG may consider staying is because his crown has slipped and the so called big teams haven’t been knocking his agents door down.

I don’t know how I would feel about him signing a new contract now.

It’s like having your best ever girlfriend/boyfriend try to get off with someone else, but they just wanted to have a bit of fun and nothing serious came of it. So suddenly they realise that your not actually as ugly as Dowie and you have suddenly come into some money so want to come back!

He's just covering his bases just in case United decide to keep Carrick on as permanent manager after his role runs out at the end of the season .

Once someone has decided to leave, there is no turning back. Neither in football nor anywhere else. As much as I have enjoyed Ollie's time here, I see no point in suddenly extending his contract. Nor can I imagine that there are any intentions in this direction, either on his part or on the part of the club. No tradgedy at all, we are one of just 20 PL-teams, there are a lot of talented managers who would like to manage a PL-team, so there shouldn't be a shortage of interested managers, who tick the boxes.

Whose shopping list were we crossing off and fulfilling this Jan window? Can't be Ollie's? Maybe that means we are looking for a new Head Coach or slipped some advanced targets by the incoming Kingpin?

I don’t believe for a second that he is staying past the end of his contract. I am less worried about him running down his contract than I was as there is clearly some spirit left.

It’s a result business as always, we beat Wolves and Burnley, and get through the conference play-off then we’re in good shape, retaining him was justified and he’s definitely staying to the end of the season.

“Listen Steve. I’m sorry about the outbursts. I’m afraid I have trouble controlling my emotions in extreme situations. I say things I shouldn’t. You know I love this club, these fans, and these players. Not so sure about Mr Hobbs. When is Dougie coming home? I can have this squad ticking over like a well oiled machine by the end of the season and I wont need any more players unless you sell someone. You can sell the donkey with the dodgy knee of course.
Let’s get back together again for another couple of years and win the Europa League. The fans will love it… apart from that guy sunning himself in Lanzarote. By the way you’re rocking that haircut!”
A well Ollied machine

Agreed. I don't think Parish would keep him anyway after what has happened.

OG decided to go, who knows if he had a top job lined up and maybe that has now disappeared?

He will get a job as he is a proven winner, whether it's a step up is another matter.

What annoys me about the whole situation is that it’s the sensible option to keep him on. I’d prefer it if he was booted out straight away as I think that what he did was about as out of order as you can get.

However, a new manager is unlikely to play the same way so will need 5 or 6 weeks to implement a new system and we can’t do that when we are under pressure to get points. It’s preferably a pre-season to do that.

Palace is a “family” club and whilst I don’t expect players or managers to stay for ever, I do expect them to buy into that ethos. Eze did, Guehi did. I can no longer bring myself to support or applaud Glasner. For me he’s now just another employee of the Club.

no one is perfect all of the time, and few jobs come with as much public critique and pressure than a Prem manager. I can understand him having a bad moment on camera. All he did was say how he was feeling. I can forgive him that.

All the players. All the coaches. All the managers. They're all employees.

Both Eze and Guehi didn't want to stay at our '' family club ''. They wanted to go and work somewhere else. At clubs that are the polar opposite of '' family ''.

Glasner is paid to get results. I want Palace to win games. His doing his job to the best of his abilities gives the team a better chance than if/when he wasn't. So he gets my support while still in the job.
