Glasner Out

From his post-match interview, he still seems really upset that Eze was sold in the summer. But none of us fans are surprised at all.

It leads me to think, was Glasner told that Palace are an ambitious club that will keep its stars and challenge for Europe each year by the board? He's pissed off that in reality, it is all about balancing the books and, like he says, just avoiding relegation? Was he sold a lie?

It also brings me to think that is the club run purely to make money for the American investors with the intention of spending just enough to stay in the Premier League.

Managers, players and fans all dream about silverware, spending money (and speculating) to get there. But the directors cannot take the risk and have to protect their investment. It seems that Glasner has been caught in the middle of this and it's a fight he cannot win.
Surely he would have done some research before accepting the job. It's obvious from the stadium, with or without the new stand we are limited by PSR.
He's done this before, 2 years then he's off for similar reasons. I think he's waiting for the big club to take a punt on him.

I was very impressed with Ollie shortly after we hired him. He came across as an intelligent, thinking manager with a nice sense of humour and a good command of English.

Most of all I loved the way he got us playing, then last year the success he brought us was unprecedented for us Palace fans.

But, in recent times our form and results have nosedived and I am now firmly of the opinion that Ollie's continued presence at the club is aggravating the situation. Seems to me that it it will be in our club's best interest to part company, probably before our next match.

Steve probably doesn't expect much from the Chelsea game so might let OG carry the can for that one before giving someone else a go in the next few matches.

Let's take out the FA cup win.

We still had a record breaking season with our highest points total, off the back of selling Olise.

So - let's push on from that. You keep hold of the team and add one or two.

Adding Pinot and Canvot makes sense, in that respect.

I would have also signed a striker.

So, let's just look at the squad, with Eze staying and adding Pinot, Canvot and a striker.

That alone is a steady addition - Pinot gives options, striker gives options. Canvot can relieve a tired defence.

Now, add in AFCON - Sarr going, can pinot cover - that's the idea.

Munoz stays fit, Kamada stays fit.

That's where it lies with me... Parish takes a punt that these injuries don't happen.. and as it has shown, what we think on paper is good enough, these variables do indeed happen.

I don't really get the animosity towards OG. Surely he has a point? We've sold our best players, haven't brought in anywhere near good enough replacements, and barely have more than a competent starting 11 in the squad. This is after he's achieved heights we've never achieved before. I'd feel.pretty cheesed off about that. Am I wrong?
Clubs like us, Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, Everton are selling clubs. We run by buying undeveloped talent and selling it for a profit, we're never going to sign ready made replacements like big sides do. He got his ideas twisted up thinking we'd be replacing Eze with another 65m player etc.

No excuses, his ego is running amok, he has to be sacked. Been a brilliant manager who thought he was bigger than the club, and nobody is or ever will be. We are Palace from Selhurst. I just hope our lovely up and coming youngsters or oldsters who threw around the concept Glasner was, our best manager ever, reflect on the fact that Stevie was. Young man, taking over a broken club, through tenacity, breaking the mould, promotion, taking us to third in the top flight, FA Cup Final, even knew it was the Palace way not to win it, ZDS, coming back to help out when the usual Palace mess manifested itself. Mr Crystal Palace. Glasner out, and take your bus, you routinely chuck everyone under, with you.

Not at all we owe him big time

It's clear there are different objectives.

When Glasner joined he was clear that if Palace wanted a manager content with a mid table finish then they had 'the wrong guy.'
I'm sure that with our best players and a few additions Glasner thought that it would be possible to finish in the top 6.

On the other hand Textor indicated that Parish was content with merely avoiding relegation each year.

I'm not making a judgement on who's right and who's wrong- merely pointing out the significant gulf in objectives between Glasner and Parish which is partly why we are where we are now.

What he did today by not making any substitutions was a step too far.. It clearly wasn't a football related decision to do that. It was a form of protest and expressing his anger towards the board..

Now I'm sorry but you do not play russian roulette with a football match because you're, essentially sulking. It's disrespectful to yourself, to the players, to the supporters and ultimately to the name of this club which we all love.

Very poor behaviour from Glasner today.

I feel no animosity towards Ollie, on the contrary, I feel nothing but admiration for what he has achieved here.

I'm just not sure that his continued presence is helpful. He's told the world that he's not renewing his contract because he wants a new challenge. That in itself is not exactly a motivational message.

Love what he's done for us, but...............

I will forever be grateful to Ollie and the speech he made after the cup final really hit home to me with everything I was going through. I knew after the final that it was going to be downhill after that but did not expect this to unravel so soon. The injures have killed us at the minute and losing Marc now is hard to take though 20 million and he's away in the summer anyway is to good to refuse. We were almost liquidated because we were just over 30 mill in debt! The rollercoaster continues. I have know clue where we go from here. Hope Ollie stays yo the summer and gets us the conference but after today's interview I can't see it
Good luck to Ollie in the future and I will always remember him and tht squad from last year. History makers!

So apparently SP knew about Glasner leaving back in October. Therefore, one would assume that SP has been active getting a shortlist of replacements in readiness for when OG departs. Looks like this will need to be brought forward but who’s on the shortlist? Or will SP just get someone in to the end of the season?

Roy's not picking up his phone

I think OG is insulting the fans more than anyone else. Does he think we are not aware that we have players missing, and accept we are not at full strength. Expectations are to get the best he can and that includes using the youth or lower quality players. They are palace academy players ffs. I think The last time a prem team didn’t use a sub was RH at palace. His reason, the bench was crap.
He went soon after !

He has come out in recent weeks and said that Parish asked him if he needed more players during the summer break and HE SAID HE DIDNT , so this script that the management abandoned him is BS . He is contradicting himself . Recently he said that he understood the business need to sell MG and now he’s ripping them a new one for making that decision .

He started slowly and won the FA cup , BUT , now he’s loosing the respect of many fans.

Now Glasner’s launched a blistering attack on the management and said he doesn’t care if he’s sacked .

SO MUCH FOR HIS COMMITMENT TO PALACE .

He is now showing that he’s not the manager for the long haul , where as SP saved the club , he’s been the owner who brought in the players and sanager who won us the FA cup and he’s still standing behind the club . He’s not chucking a tantrum and saying he doesn’t care …

If fact he seems to be doing everything he can do to hurt the club .

That dummy spit in the middle of a transfer window .

That’s the definition of being unprofessional.

Steve works with him daily and would be well aware of how he reacts so would already have a plan B in place.

The sooner he’s out the door the better , like yesterday . Give paddy the reins , who knows , he might turn the team into match winners overnight . SP will already be talking to people .
