Glasner Out

Managers have short careers?

I'm ok with the careerist word, and while many will go for better paid jobs.....While that's true to an extent it's not true to the extent of using the 'all' word.

Many of the people in the public sector could have chosen better pay if that was their highest motive.

Yes, most managers have short careers. There are only finite number of manager positions available.

I would love to know is going through the minds of Parish and Bright.

That interview on the BBC (watched it 3 times now) is brutal! He does not hold back and blames the ‘board’ for not investing in new players when they had their chance.

I laughed when he said, I could not make any substitutions because I only have kids on the bench! I’m sure the players on the bench appreciated that comment.

That's not true for those like Glasner.....looking at how long he's been a manager it's already over 11 years, which is about the average length of a first team career and he's likely to be managing for probably at least double that.

It was too painful....I got to about two thirds in and turned off.

Actually shocked at those in here blaming Glasner for that interview and our form. Yes, he’ll be sacked before Chelsea now anyway but everything he says is on the money.

I’d love him to be in charge for Chelsea so we can sing his name and boo Parish/Board. But maybe I’m in the minority judging by some of these posts?

Stop taking things at face value. He’s trying to be diplomatic in previous interviews. Of course the summer transfer window and hollow promises are the reason he’s leaving.

Hell, I back Textor now in hindsight, after he said in his TalkSPORT interview that Parish is happy with just avoiding relegation and doesn’t want to do anything to take a risk but won’t give up powers to those with the money.

So Glasner the man who said he was happy with a small squad, came out and complained about the board and then retracted it only a few weeks ago saying it's his fault is now doing the exact same.
Failing to realise his lack of commitment is one of the reasons players aren't coming in.
Using the guehi sale to cloak is failing..

Time to go Glasner, thanks for everything!
Parish you also need to wake up fella!

Fully expecting the next yellow bar on SSN regarding Palace will say "Glasner has left the club" where i think he has let himself down & has vented in the wrong forum, he is absolutely right. We haven't reinvested in the squad, the signings haven't been great & were in a terrible place.

Were they why he left his last two clubs in almost identical circumstances as well?

You actually believe that Textor wanted to spend big on players but that Parish wouldn't let him.

Textor wanted to run the club and send players between clubs. We have already seen how Fifa regard that....very poorly.

Perhaps you should think about how this club would have gone with Textor in control....American owners often don't spend and are more interested in the asset.

Nothing stopped Textor investing heavily in Palace....he did alright but never properly committed.

Who are these people who are being stopped from spending big on players exactly?

Frankly, I don’t care. I’m fine with Glasner going. I get that you can’t do this to your Employer’s.

But forget everything else for a second, if we got Guardiola, Klopp, Brian bloody Clough through the door tomorrow, would they be able to fix this?

The answer is no. Glasner is clearly the best Manager we have ever had. Whether you believe in a back 5 or not (I actually don’t ironically), if that’s your man and that’s the man that is the best Manager in the clubs history, you buy him 4 wing backs, you buy him more than 2 centre backs for his BACK 3 FORMATION.

It’s actually insane how our club has been run.

To really get this sunk in, had Munoz injured is knee at the end of last season, we would NOT have won the FA Cup, probably not even beat Villa in the semi.

We were 1 player injury away from disaster and our fabulous leaders did NOTHING.

Sorry people but he's gotta go.. You cant have the manager openly slagging off the owners and refusing to make substitutions because he's sulking so it's at a detriment to the team.

Don't get me wrong he's right in what he's saying to a degree but this is starting to turn ugly and toxic and that's not good.

You know what I think he wants out but doesn't want to walk away himself so he's saying things like this so that he leaves the board no choice but to sack him.

Glasner needs to go, it’s not all his fault by a mile, as far as the squad strength is concerned he has been badly let down. Even without losing Eze, it was very clear from the end of the last season we needed to expand the squad with experience. We didn’t and we pay the price for not doing it now.
Glasner ,has completely lost it now , going on what he says his relationship with Parish, is rock bottom. After all the fun of the last couple of seasons it’s a shame but the quicker Parish gets him out the better as his attitude must already be poisoning the waters.

He'll be gone after that interview. Obvious the relationship has gone toxic over transfers.

Love Glasner and what he has done for the club and agree selling Guehi now without a replacement is madness. However, no one single individual is bigger than the club.
Agreed... Don't think he's left the board much choice after that interview.

Yes I think different manager would have gotten more than 2 points from the last 21 and beaten a 6th tier team.

All in the past now though. Can’t change the past, we can only go from here and I think it is clear OG’s position is untenable

I don’t actually want Textor or any American in charge. However, no one in their right mind would invest to their full intent without having a sizeable amount of sway on decisions.

What Parish has always done, because of sheer ego in my opinion, has told the biggest investors that they don’t have a seat at the table, they can’t decide the direction of their club but they should be the ones footing the bill.

If your Boss/CEO kept coming to work and saying “can you use all your savings to invest to make our business better, but you can’t be involved in decision making, we might still sack you if you think you’re not doing well enough but it’ll be all your money pumping into the business”, would you say yeah, sure?
