Glasner Out

It looked like some of the players had at least an inkling that he wasn't carrying on beyond this season.

Many questions now but where is he going and who will he take with him is foremost ?! I would imagine Kamada may be in frame to follow him again but praying that our best talent doesn't get poached if he goes to Prem rivals.

What a week to be an Eagle 😌

Whilst I'm a little baffled about the need to announce it now. Its still in Glasners best interest to finish on a high.

If we finish well and win the CL he'll look like a genius. Get knocked out early and limp over the line and that FA cup will look like a fluke.

Let’s hope this rings true come the end of the season. We still have plenty of points to play for, so let’s hope Glasner leaves the club on a positive note.

a well-run club will have contractual-contingency for a manager taking our staff to a new club.

Thanks for the memories Glasner. And on to our new manager search. Anybody but Pardew.

Not sure I’m glad all over but definitely glad it’s over. It was becoming a saga and would have dragged on til the end of the season. He did a brilliant job for us but his inflexibility was becoming an issue for a club like Palace. I wish him well in his next job.
Absolutely and it hurts less than if he'd upped sticks at the end of last season. That would have been a real hoof to the clackerbag.

Everything i have said for 6 months is coming true, one trick pony, lack of imagination, poor media relations, poor judge of player, a manager that can only play one way, and then only if his first 11 are ready, the Emperors new clothes, he is a poor manager, use your eyes, FFS gullible is the word, moronic line ups, pathetic moaning arrogant prick.
Vindication lanzo 💪 you say the stuff others are too scared to say

It's difficult isn't it. Do we cut the cord now for the sake of team morale? Or persevere and deal with it all in the summer? We might be able to get Thomas Frank if Spurs get rid. Or Glasner might still deliver another trophy if we get some players back and they are professional about things.

SP will get a lot of flack for not being ambitious enough in the summer, but it's exactly what happened in 91. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes in Sunderland tomorrow or having to decide what to do in the rest of this window.

Maybe he knew Glasner wasn't staying and didn't want to spend all the cash on players to suit his system.
Obviously just guesswork.

Glasner needs to end on a high.

Can we win the Conference, most definitely - will we? God knows...

It would be peak palace ending the season with another trophy, a totally new look side going into Europa.
Chances of that are pretty much zero

I agree and for the sake of continuity and the players being focussed, knowing their jobs and what is expected of them it makes sense to have all the new manager upheaval in the summer. Of course the media like to stir sh*t so if our losing run continues for much longer they'll start reporting that Glasner's head is already at Old Trafford or whatever. That I wont believe because Glasner is the type imo that will give his all to Palace until the day he leaves but that wont stop the media (and certain idiots that have always hated OG) sticking the knife in and screaming 'go now'.
The only way to shut all that noise down is to turn our form around and quickly. I'd take a point at Sunderland and then we go from there.
I wanted OG to stay but I am massively grateful to him. No one is bigger than the club. Lets enjoy the rest of the season now we know what's happening and we move on to a new chapter in the summer

OG has zero say in anyone going with him. No one leaves that the club does not want to. Parish is no idiot. He will not let anyone leave that the new guy wants to keep.

How much of a contributing factor has Glasner’s planned departure been in our declining form?

Those behind the scenes will know, and if, as I suspect, it has played a material part then there is only one logical outcome — they will know that this announcement is only going to make matters worse.

Surely it is better if Glasner goes now , he is not going to pedal furiously for the next five months,he will not be able to motivate anyone, a new broom would be more effective.
At the turn of the year, we could probably have got a decent release fee from Man U for him. I wonder if Paeish knew he was going to make this statement.
We'll soon be Wigan's peer

Clarity is usually good as it allows for forward planning .

With us, however, it's clear as mud - particularly for the January window.

There's little point making signings for Glasner's system if Glasner isn't here unless you get a replica Glasner manager, which I think unlikely.
I doubt Kamada will renew, it looks like Guehi is off and there are rumours about Lerma, JPM and Munoz also leaving.
We're in for a summer of upheaval, and have to hope for the best.

For this season, we have to see how the team reacts to knowledge that Glasner is off.
Usually the knowledge of the manager's future departure has a negative effect on their teams.
Nevertheless, Chelsea managed to give Gus Hiidink a good sign off with a trophy so lets aim to replicate that.
