Glasner Out

Its a results business, Vieira got sacked for a worse run, he is dead in the water.
Glasner will not get sacked. We'd have to have a 19 game run without a win and be in the relegation zone for that to happen. When he leaves, it will be of his own accord.

I'm not sure i totally agree. Yes we had a great run end of last season/early this season but many of those games were drawn and both games v the Norwegian side, who sat back in both legs, we did struggle to create chances , albeit Eze was absent in the first leg.

With no Sarr, which we've known about for months, we have struggled to create chances and the stats show this. Having an out of form Pino, and a hardworking but limited Devenny either side of Mateta is not a great line up, regardless of the opposition.

You mention changing the system and integrating 'new guys'. Well OG never changes the system so i can't see any changes there and if new guys includes fringe players well he's had opportunities to give them time off the bench and has rarely done so. Now there is some logic here - the fringe players are not as good, but when Munoz got injured Clyne had barely played any minutes all season. You could say the same for Esse and Uche - they barely get game time so when they do they struggle. Against Villa he didn't even give Uche minutes, despite Mateta tiring in the last 20 and he let Esse go out on loan before the Macc game despite limited options in the attack and then plays a 16 year old in that position
I did mention this, - but only to say that it's hard to integrate new guys and new systems(even if he wanted to) when there's no training time with all the players. I go on to say that OG has shown a lack of foresight to deal with this (which everyone knew was coming). He didn't even attempt to groom any of our fringe players to play roles that they may be needed in. So from this perspective, I agree with the whole of your last paragraph.

Sorry, but like all employees in business. I don't buy that highly paid professionals shouldn't be able to cope with this situation, especially in football, where managers, team-mates etc. can change every tranfer window, managers even quicker.
A load of Prima Donna's happy to fall on the floor if anyone flashes a handbag within two yards of 'em. You say cope they spend more time on the floor like a baby with a new rattle.

So to be clear then, you understand that the vastly reduced training time makes it hard to integrate players but then expect Glasner to '' groom '' fringe players at the same time ?

To be even clearer Glasner is not a one man band (I avoided grooming gang, open to misinterpretation) he surely has a decent well trained staff to do the odd chores It infers a lack of delegation at best.

Not at the same time, but before the fixture congestions begins, so he has options during the time of limited Training.

Fixture congestion started before the Prem season started. We had 2 qualifying legs against Frederikstad followed by the start of the season hot on its heels followed by Conference league games proper starting followed by our first game in the Carabao Cup. It hasn't stopped since the end of July.

Are you suggesting that there has been no training sessions since the end of July? Fixture congestion may Have started earlier, but the real run of congested games began in december. when were were playing games every 3 Days or so. The point is he[+the coaching team] had some time to do some preparation, and it appears he didn't - or it didn't work.

Having looked back at all our matches, there has been just ONE occasion when we have had a whole week's break between matches (between W Ham and Liverpool games back in September).

I have excluded the 3 international breaks because most of our 1st team squad were away with their national teams, so basically, Est 1905 is quite right in what he says.

So during the team talk before the Macclesfield game (assuming there was one) is it unreasonable to think it should have been enough to say to all the players - when you’re marking a plumber / baker in our penalty box and a cross comes in, jump when he does and get to the ball first. Cos that didn’t happen. Do you really need a full training session to achieve that against that level of opponent???
