Glasner Out

Everything i have said for 6 months is coming true, one trick pony, lack of imagination, poor media relations, poor judge of player, a manager that can only play one way, and then only if his first 11 are ready, the Emperors new clothes, he is a poor manager, use your eyes, FFS gullible is the word, moronic line ups, pathetic moaning arrogant prick.
The trouble is that he's just as good and probably better than most we've had. And a lot we could get. However, I have never been happy about always using the same system either. You'd suspect the opposition would eventually notice! Horses for courses I always think.

Why is there so much personal hatred towards Glasner? I can understand being critical but the extreme antipathy for someone who has achieved a lot for us does not make sense. It is almost as if people are hap[py for Palace to lose so they can have a go, its like when England lose a test match.
Have a heart. We're not that bad.

Is there much hatred? Perhaps a couple of posts, but most are just criticisms: which one suspects Glasner would expect after our recent run. You're only as good as your results.

Aside from that he's a decent manager.....

4 times you've said that.
In this topic.
You're like a broken record.
I'm not sure what you want everyone to say?
Are you a massive "I told you so" in real life?
Do your neighbours run in when they see you putting the bins out?
Ye gods man - do better!

Eze and Ollise can read the game and know when to get on their toes and help out in their own half . Esse unfortunately sees situations too late both defensively and when attacking and contributes little .

We dont have a position in our club thats called Maverick ,if we do its on the bench at best ,a title for an unused sub maybe
have you ever heard of the term player development?

Can't wait for him to go to be honest. He will flop at a bigger club that much is clear to see

Please tell me one manager who isn't a one trick pony in the prem , pep reliance on Haaland getting supply from the multi million pound players anything over 50m , slot found wanting , Howe needs all his players fit and on and on , so your point is

I respect your opinion, but I cant quite allign it with your demands until a few days ago that he should sign a new contract.

IMO I would out him now, no contract offer, because I think he isn’t very good, but that is just my opinion, if he is going to stay and sign a new deal he needs to do it now, we cannot buy any more players for a manager so specific in the system players he wants, as I have said clearly, I won’t him out, but a decision has to be made before any other players are bought, stay or go, needs a decision, I support Palace, whoever is manager, but you don’t have to like the way he plays or the selections he use’s.

Ultimately I would like him to stay but if he isn't going to sign then he should go asap.
Buying players will be tough with him in transition and it is also unsettling for the players.
No one person is bigger than the club.
This is nothing to do with recent results.
I reckon SP thinks he will sign otherwise he would have already pulled the plug

People keep bleating on about changing the system, but we currently have no fit right-back and four centre-backs. We have three fit senior midfielders, two wide forwards, one striker, one-size Devenny, and whatever Uche is. Some of the youngsters have looked ok, but they're not ready to have a big impact on a game. So what is this formation that wouldn't mean people playing out of position? OG's success is built around thorough planning and training, which is probably why he tends to be a slow starter at clubs, but it's also why we're unlikely to see a significant change, just tweaks.

Yes, we got humiliated against Macclesfield, but before that we got a draw against a team who had won 11 out of their last 12 games and we could have beaten them, even with our limited squad. The fact is, a club our size can't afford to have so many key first-team players missing. For those currently keen for OG to go it might be prudent to note one of the names being pushed as a replacement is a Spanish bloke who has found success with a smaller team by meticulous planning and a rigid formation. I would also point out that other managers like Iraolo, Howe and Silva have also had some long runs this season where they've struggled. It's just the nature of the beast.

We are not the only club that has their managers contract up at the end of this season.

In fact there are parallels between Fulham / Silva and ourselves / Glasner.

Both managers have voiced their annoyance with their clubs not doing early business in the summer transfer window. Both have had both bad and good runs of results this season. Ours currently bad but a few weeks ago Fulham were struggling.

Here's what a Fulham site were saying in November ;

'' Silva’s contract is the biggest stick people are using to beat him with. He hasn’t committed to a new deal, which runs out in the summer.

So what?

Some people argue that it will harm our attempts to sign players in January and the close season if we don’t have a committed manager.

Will it? We don’t sign players in January (who aren’t called Willian), and we don’t make any moves in the main window until late August , by which point we will have a replacement in if Silva walks, so what’s the problem? It’s only a issue if we have long-term plans in place, which we have consistently shown we do not.
Marco’s not infallible. There are things he could improve. He could have a more robust plan B; he could be less prickly at times when things don’t go his way; he could swallow his pride and get on board more with decisions that don’t go his way, for the good of the team (JKA, anyone?).

But he is in the top two managers I’ve seen in 30 years of supporting Fulham FC – and letting him go now would not only be a terrible decision in the context of the 2025/26 Premier League season, it would be potentially catastrophic for the next few years ''.

No manager is perfect. The Art of being a successful manager is to get it right more often than you get it wrong. I'm not going to rehash recent debates about Glasner, however I will say that I would like him to stay and build upon the success that he has brought to the club. And those Fulham comments could easily have been made by a Palace fan about Glasner.

But he's not unique in deferring a contract decision until he can see evidence of the direction of travel that his club are taking. Fulham look like they are preparing a big contract for Silva which may see him staying. I think Iraola will be on the move though.

There are not that many posts downright demanding OG to go. There are a lot that recognise he is not perfect and his current contract situation is probably not helping.

There are also a lot of posts(myself included) that are questioning his refusal to look at other solutions in terms of the formation. His job as manager is to find solutions, it’s as simple as that. None of us are premier league managers, and can only give our opinion on how we see things and what we would do with the available resources.

We all know that we have these periods every season but it’s how you deal with them, but after the Macclesfield debacle fans are rightly asking questions.
