Glasner is a Glazier ?

Rumours of his departure,sadly persist:

This recent episode kicked off y/day with numerous outlets saying us & Fulham were both after Danny Rohl at Sheff Weds. Why? Rumours about OG going to Leipzig have been circulating for several weeks, haven't heard anything about Marco Silva at Fulham tho. Still, clickbait love to sell our players & now our manager it seems.

If a story was ever meant to stir the pot it’s this sort of thing. Some say it originated in Germany, if so no surprise.
Glasner contract is bound to be under review, that’s the only thing likely to be factual.

This is a clear attempt by the Palace hating hacks to destablise the club/team going into our most important game for at least a decade. I dont believe a character such as Glasner would dream of talking to another club while under contract especially at this critical time of the season. Neither do I believe Palace would go behind his back to sound out a replacement.
This is nothing more than bitchy gossip. Same as some of the BS stories about some of our players having 'already decided to leave'. As if that would happen a week before the biggest game of any of their careers!

After the 5-2 defeat Glasner gave a press conference with a warning to Pep (perhaps said in jest).
It was like an opening shot in the warfare that hopefully doesn't come back to bite him.

I saw that defeat in a different light .
We were 2-0 up ( should have been 3) and were cruising it in the first half with City clueless as to how to stop Sarr and Munoz down the right.

Pep changed it, shut the corridor that Munoz and Sarr were exploiting and turned the tables with our centre halves having nobody to mark as their attacking players drifted around the final third.

If anything it was Pep that found the solution in that particular game.
Therefore it's not immediately clear, at least to me, why City couldn't play the same way again (i.e block Munoz and Sarr , make our centre backs redundant by giving them nobody to mark).
Of course if Haaaland plays, this also changes the dynamic.

Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

It’s worth looking at our 2-2 draw line up against City. Guehi was in defence with Lerma and Hughes packing the midfield. In the 2-5 defeat Guehi was suspended with Lerma stepping into the back three and Wharton and Kamada in midfield. Mateta was withdrawn at halftime which did not help. I suspect, therefore, we will start with the team that trounced Spurs.
City played both Haaland and De Bruyne in the first match but Haaland was injured for the second. Marmoush substituted for him.
Pep always has a plan B to counteract opponents so Ollie needs to keep him guessing with two or three of our own plans. If all else fails kick the s*** out of De Bruyne and pull Haaland’s ponytail until he cries!

For my 10p worth, I’d start the team from yesterday for the final. Bit stronger in the middle of the park to shut debruyne down. That said look how well we did in the semi when I thought Kamada and Wharton would be over run… what do I know 🤔🫣

This record per game would have us in Europe, and possibly Champions League contention.
Now being Palace, where does it all go wrong?

How deluded are Spurs fans atm, found this on FB, have fun . . .

Not so much a step down as an open lift shaft.

The best manager we have ever had. It’s not just him as a football manager but as a man. He brings the players and fan even closer together, very clever.
Tactically you could argue he doesn’t have a plan b, but his plan A is so effective.
If I was Ollie I’d allow the rumours to persist to put pressure on the club.
One thing is for sure he loves the club and the players, he is no fan of starting a job during a season so I expect him to be here until next summer. He left Eintract Frankfurt as they didn’t match his ambition, we got a great coach at his low moment and it’s been a mutually beneficial relationship. Let’s enjoy the ride and back the team, hopefully we give him signings we can afford and so badly need

Is it possible for this man to go up in everyone's estimation? Yes, it is.

we absolutely gotta keep Glasner at Selhurst. To lose him now would be catastrophic.

I just don't see Glasner going anywhere near Marinakis. He's got too many principles for that. I'm not saying he won't go if not backed before the window closes - just that he won't go to Forest (or Olympiakos for that matter).

I don't see him going anywhere this season. He seems to be very principled with contracts. But everywhere else he's managed has been for 2 years. I don't see this being any different.

I hope I'm wrong and he signs another agreement, but I suspect he won't and that SP already knows that.

We lose all managers and continue. This won't be much different.

I have been a Palace supporter for 70 years and in that time there have been the usual ups and downs that all clubs and their supporters experience. But I think the club is in danger of sleep walking into a mess. IMHO we have had the amazing good fortune to get the best manager we have ever had. He has level of vision, ambition and talent that I have not seen in all those years. But the down side is that we have a chairman who seems to be taking this all for granted and who, if he is not careful, will drive a frustrated OG away. Yes, SP was a former player and knew the game but that was then. It does not mean he is qualified to to make or interfere in managerial judgements. Look at the number of former players from all divisions who have found themselves out of their depth and learnt some costly lessons.
So my plea to SP is, STICK TO BEING A CHAIRMAN, GET YOUR WALLET OUT AND LET OG DO HIS JOB. You will be making the lives of the supporters a bit more bearable.

So much to unpack there

Firstly not sure where “ former player” came from.

Secondly not sure a Chairman’s job is to get his wallet out. It’s to oversee and co-ordinate. I suspect if he juts went spending he’d be replaced.

And lives more bearable?, we’ve just won the FA Cup ffs. The last two sides out of the big 4 to win it - wigan and Leicester and I’d argue are in a better financial state than either of those
