Agreed. Also, the better managers will work with what they're given and don't moan publicly when star assets are sold. If they're a manager who will only come if money is spent then one has to question whether it's worth taking the risk employing them.
My take on Glasner is that he wanted the club to move forward faster than Parish and the board felt was prudent. As he said himself last week this will be his second longest tenure as a manager after his 4 years at Linz. He's a man in a hurry to reach the biggest clubs. I do wonder what part Parish's refusal to let Bayern speak to him played in Glasner's decision not to extend his contract with us.
Having said all that, he's taken us on a dream ride few of us expected to see in our lifetime and he may well depart having won us a second major trophy and with a place in next year's Europa League.
