If we give away a direct free-kick in a dangerous area (as in our last match v City), I would favour covering each goalpost with our two tallest players - and maybe DH a yard in front of the goalline..
It may not eliminate the chances of De Bruyne (or whoever) scoring direct, but it should reduce them.
The flaw in this argument is that City would be able to move attackers into the penalty box without any prospect of them being offside.
However, I still City think would be more likely to score with a direct pop at goal if the two posts are unguarded.
Best of all would be not to concede a free kick in a perilous part of the pitch.
