Fredrikstad vs. Crystal Palace Match Thread

Where is our Premier League pedigree? A moderate 4th division outfit is making us look silly.
If we get through it does not bode well for the league stage.
We can't direct headers or keep the ball down.
One silly mistake and we could be struggling to get to extra time, and, with very little on the bench it's hard to see how Glasner can liven us up.
Romain is right there lad

It's one of those games where all the bounce of the ball is going to them. They're getting nearly all of the second ball. After about 18 minutes, I thought we already looked tired. Still, we've been the slightly better side in a poor enough half. It really is like a league one match with speculative hoofing - and normally you'd expect it from them, but we've done loads of it. I presume it's an artificial pitch tactic or something - looking for a silly bounce.

I always say that when a team is getting all the second ball it's not because they are good necessarily, but because the opposition aren't reading the game. Slow in anticipation. Lack lustre. Going to still win 4-0 though. C'mon Hendo, get your hoof on

Awful game. We have been pathetic but I'm not surprised.

Missing Hughes as we usually do.

Four signings needed at least.

I actually wouldn’t mind if we went a bit route one. Get it up to JPM and run off him. They struggle with handling JPM physically. What I find infuriating is playing it around the back three endlessly 40 yards from goal until we run out of ideas and try a diagonal ball that goes out of play.

I suspect Glasner will tinker slightly to take their space away. At a guess, Kamada next to Wharton. Esse or Devenny on the left. Kamada and Devenny to close down aggressively - something like that. I presume take Lerma off. The midfield two is not working currently. Wharton's getting caught with no support. Lerma keeps making the wrong choice.

we are not even out of breath , pitch is a killer to the game no bounce no pace , and the ref needs to pull them up on slow throw ins . think Esse will do well out there
The guy is taking 30 seconds to get there and then another 30 seconds polishing the ball. It is a bit ridiculous.

Terrible game. Like a 3rd round cup tie. With a 1-0 lead we're taking no risks and it is making for a very dull game. I don't really care though providing we get through.

Tactically you'd think we should press a lot, presuming that they aren't as confident on the ball as Premier League players. Pressing = turnovers = attacking F-stad before they can crowd the box.

Fom recent matches, travel, and our general lack of subs, however, we look too tired to press well.

I'm surprised we haven't tried to use Munoz's speed. Especially on plastic he should be flying past their defenders.
