Flags.........& Politics.

Why? If you go around shouting and protesting, calling for death of Israelis should you not know the background of the conflict? Many couldn’t even point out Palestine on a map. Don’t get me started on the total morons calling themselves “ queers for Palestine”. The most liberal country in the region, who have Pride events is… Israel.
Not at all. It's completely unreasonable to expect anyone to do five minutes research before giving up their Saturday to march around swathed in flags whilst carrying a placard supporting somewhere about which they know nothing and taking up a chant they don't understand.

Compared to their neighbours, i would reckon the Israeli's have pretty good recycling & Climate Action credentials. Another reason for Antifa to love them ? only kidding.
Not very many Israel flags around my neck of the woods. Apart from The Shankill Road, Belfast....i would reckon on not many Israel flags around most of the UK ?

Lions that have nothing to do with northern Europe are less 'fake' than a myth about a Christian martyr?

You just want to slag off anything to do with English nationalism. Is there any other nation you want to slag off for its traditions and myths? Or is it just blighty (the country you ran back to)?

God knows why you support the English cricket team Steely.....but only you knows what goes on in your noggin.
After this talking to I don’t know why he doesn’t shut up. Fancy running back to this country just to sl&g it off. We know the answer there. I wonder where he fled.

My wife tried this in London last year when a march went by the pub we were in and several of them dropped in. Which river? Which sea? No one knew either.

Jesus Christ the river you can partly understand, even though it has the same name as the country it borders, but the sea!!!??? How thick can you be?

It's odd too that Brexit / Trump / Reform, etc, voters are dismissed, or worse, as being ill informed or too easily influenced but it's perfectly understandable for marchers to know nothing about the reasons for their protest. Of course it's their right to march about what they like, within reason, but being as vehement as some of them were without bothering to find out what they were chanting?

Do you think that those on Brexit/Trump/ Reform marches are any better informed? Seriously?

I certainly don’t! When I hear them interviewed many appear politically illiterate and obsessed with just one subject.

It’s not though unreasonable for people to react to scenes of devastation and cruelty to children.

No need to dig any deeper if you think it’s just wrong!

You’ve been watching the Labour Party conference then 😉.
Watch the videos of the Pro Palestine marchers being interviewed, many know nothing about the region or what Hamas stand for. As for the Queers for Palestine, enough said

Not my point which was the claim that one set of marchers are entitled to be uninformed but not another. In any case those out in support of Brexit are doing it in the name of their own country, not another one about which they apparently know nothing at all.

I watched a piece on flags and the far right last night. Sociologists were saying that this nationalist flag waving could turn into a violent movement. There's so much I could say - for a start, states are inherently violent. It's a power game. But I won't bore people with the actual sociological theory.
However, as usual Palestine Flags, Kneecap etc were fine. They are in solidarity with the oppressed - a sign of compassion.
I then thought - national flags lead to violence apparently. Yet, Palestinian flags wouldn't lead to terrorism against the state and its people would they? People wouldn't take it too far and start maybe blowing a couple of things up? A few knife attacks? But, with the same logic applied we are now nearly saying that is justified.
We have justified flags on one side and vilified flags on the other. But the reality here is ignored and the logic so turned around that it's completely subverted.

Lisa Nandy saying trans should be allowed to compete in women sport. This lot are beyond contempt
Obviously Labour have lost the common man’s vote, and any who drifted their way in order to get the Tories out, so they can only set their stall out to attract all the oddballs. Expect more ‘outside of normality’ groups being welcomed into the Labour fold.
