Fiorentina Away Leg

With sales going pretty well and 2 weeks to go, I reckon it'll be a sell-out at the Franchi. There are currently limited seats in remaining sectors except 'MAF' in the Maratona stand (light green on map) and the expensive main stand Tribuna seats/hospitality section (light blue). 1000027373.webp

For you or any away fans looking for sports bar-type places in Firenze, I have a few suggestions that might be worth a try:

'Red Garter' (was very popular with the Hearts fans 3 years ago after I mentioned it but gets v. busy) and 'Tartan Jock' - both these pubs are a short walk near river to southeast of city centre.

'Chiosco degli Sportivi' on Via degli Anselmi is very central and a short walk from Duomo (cathedral).

Any Irish pub (of which there are lots!) across the city would be a shout. 'Finnegan's' - on Via San Gallo, to the north of city centre - I know as used to work there and is a mix of internationals and locals. 'The Old Stove' has a good outside terrace and screen.

Only 'neutral' place I can think of near stadium is a rugby club - 'Rugby Bierstube' which is good for drinks and has a pizzeria but can't recall what the screen situation is?

Remember the city alcohol 'ban' will be temporarily enforced night before and day of game, so no off-sales, drinking in streets etc. is permitted but you can still drink with a meal in restaurants etc. or drink in stadium once you're there.

It's ultimately a friendly one-club city and shouldn't be a problem watching game alongside locals. A lot of small cafes, wine bars, pizzerias and some tourist/international type restaurants have small screens too. Like most places, using common sense and showing respect to locals and cultural sights (e.g. not hanging scarves on statues!) goes a long way.

Hope that helps a few folk who can't get to match?
Thanks for this mate, I'll share it with a couple of people if that's ok?

Of course that's ok! If Palace or the Tuscan tourist board want to DM me about a fee though.....
You certainly seem to know Florence well. I've only ever been to Pisa and managed to lose my passport in the 8 hours I was there. In my defence I did consume about half a bottle of Smirnoff blue label during that time though. Saw an Italian police officer after going through security and realising it wasn't on me anymore. "My passport, itsa gone" I managed to get out. Then another officer appeared like Mr Ben holding it out. Turns out I'd dropped it in the toilet. I'm not really sure what happens in those situations where you lose it and can't find it but I doubt they let you fly.

Thank you, this is really helpful. As far as the alcohol ban goes, would it be fair to assume that the sports bars will be pouring out the good stuff during the game as long as food is purchased as well? Or will we have to watch possible extra-time and penalties without the help of anything to calm the nerves?
