FIFA sell-off, UEFA backlash

There is no way ‘ venture capitalists ‘ would get involved unless they were sure they were on easy money and would expect to turn the tournament into a ghastly Americanized ‘ show ‘ as we saw this year with the breaks and terrible half time embarrassments
Also would the clubs holding players contracts not expect fat fees for allowing them to participate?
 
Infantino should go. UEFA have issued a statement to that effect reading between the lines. UEFA should carry out the proposed boycott till he quits or loses march election
 
It's a three way power struggle.

FIFA are jealous of the riches of UEFA so are trying to create their own revenue stream.

UEFA feel they should be running football as they make all the money that the other regions rely on.

The top European clubs think they should be running football as they are making all the money, so they keep threatening to leave UEFA.

So UEFA is attacking FIFA whilst keeping an eye on their backs in case the big clubs put the knife in.

As for the rest of the world, they like to think they count but the reality is they will side with who ever comes up with the money. Without the major European nations plus a couple of others world football is pot-less.

Why not have a FIFA president like the EU, one that has the job for six months only. They generally act as a figure head and the job is more or less ceremonial. If this was the case less chance of corruption.The real work would be done by the FIFA council ie protecting football.
Sure my idea is not perfect but better then what we have now

I can't remember if it was FIFA or UEFA but this was tried years ago. I think they put a cap of a maximum of 2 elections, however either Blatter or Platini liked the expenses too much so I think they reversed it.

You point is valid though. It's not just the top job it should also apply to the delegates. Many are corrupt and have been doing the job for decades.

Joao Havelange beat Sir Stanley Rous in 1974 & had 5 terms as head of FIFA until he resigned in 1998. UEFA have declared a ' no confidence' in Infantile :football:
