I read one of Michael Palin's diaries he felt that Eric idle was always the odd man out and resented it as he didn't have a writing partner. Cleese and Chapman, Palin and Jones.

I didn't realise that Cleese didn't get on with Jones.

When you work closely with people for years fall outs are bound to be part of it, especially the more successful you get.

It's all pretty normal.....The Beatles are another good study case.

I know a bit about Laurel and Hardy and why they endured (though early on it wasn't close knit). A lot of it is down to their professionalism and acceptance of each other's differences......the latter being the key to many a long lasting relationship.

I think the Stones were different as....and I'm no expert on the Stones....from what people tell me the only central relationship in that band were Richards and Jagger.....the rest could change but they were the heart of that band.

A bit like Fleetwood Mac....well as we know there were two Fleetwood Macs that people think of.
