.....which was the greater achievement ? in your humble opinion.

Cos lets be honest Eagles, Rayo Vallecano are a 2 horse outfit with a tiny stadium and not much money. As were many other European clubs we faced along the way. The Europa Conference will surely never be that prestigious. The Third Tier of European prizes.

The FA cup is a tougher ask - against seriously-resourced top clubs, even if its only in one country.

And as for the Community Shield ? its never been won by lucky donkeys. Always only involved the best teams in the Land.

Its almost like the difference between doing a Phd and a celebrity getting awarded an 'Honorary Doctorate'. Everybody sees the glittering prize and everybody knows that it was less grueling than other accolades.

So place your vote and give us your opinions.

Although my vote goes for the FA Cup, the Conference League is a close second. Pretty much a perfect trip to Leipzig (and in half term too). Looking at English teams who've won European trophies, we're on a short list and just 1 behind Arsenal and Man City.

13 Trophies: Liverpool
9 Trophies: Chelsea (7 since Abramovich took over in 2003!)
6 Trophies: Manchester United
4 Trophies: Tottenham Hotspur
3 Trophies: Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa
2 Trophies: Arsenal, Leeds United, Manchester City, West Ham
1 Trophy: Newcastle United, Ipswich Town, Everton, Crystal Palace

Also, whilst the standard was lower, we had to play a lot more games, do a lot more travelling. We now have quite an experienced squad in terms of all this stuff.

And loved the Community Shield win... always good to see big clubs not getting things their own way.

It's a pretty complete set to be honest.

and all of this doesn't even mention 'Prem survival' which was always the goal under Croydon-Roy. Do not forget that Wigan won the FA cup and got relegated only days later.

And certainly financially, Prem-survival is a very big achievement. But no cup hence i didnt put it on the list for the Poll.

FA Cup……now I know we only had to win 6 games and the conference was 17 games. Obviously the quality of opponents has to be considered and with the group stage format how it is now in the conference, you can lose games and still get through. You can always lose one of your two legs in the knockouts as well and still go through, there’s no such cushion in the fa cup
Plus once we got to the quarter finals of the fa cup it was quite some achievement wiping the floor with a then in form Fulham and doing the same to a Villa team who had only lost 1 in 16 games, then beating city in any game is an achievement

Breaking the trophy duck for the first time
Beating quality opposition, especially in the final.
You always remember the first one. It has a special place. FA cup

Premiership survival is almost an annual escape act.

Comparing the FA cup win to Premiership survival is like the difference between spunking your load, and 5hltting one's pants.

Looking at the teams in it next year it certainly is becoming a bigger trophy.

FA Cup gets my vote too. Fierce, quality competition across the whole football community and the one cup we've been dreaming of winning since before the Conference Cup was a twinkle in EUFA's eye.

We've been so close before and now, at least, we have it in our trophy cabinet.

which, of the two lists, looks more Prestigious ?

The FA Cup. Until now it's always been the pinnacle of our aspirations and now we've won it. No Palace fan will ever forget the feeling of pure joy on 17.5.25, particularly beating Citeh in the final. Very pleased to have won the other two but one was more relief and the other was nice but not essential, again the opponents made it more pleasing.
If that sounds blasé about us winning any trophies then I apologise; it wasn't meant to be and let's win loads more.

Even the clowns have one more than the weed. Got to be a song there.😁

Crazy that we're the first team to win the Community Shield that wasn't one of the big 5 (leaving out Tottenham) since 1995 - Everton. Twenty-nine years of the same 5 clubs winning it.

I guess it may make sense though as if an upstart wins the FA cup they're playing against the premier league winners.

I'm now changing my vote to this competition (ok, not allowed as already voted for FA cup).

FA Cup: We weren't expected to win it. Opposition was tougher. Fail once and you're out.
More excitement and nerves. Atmosphere was better. First meaningful trophy.

Conf League: all opposite of the above. It didn't have the edge. However, Vallecano supporters did stay to the end. First european trophy.

Community shield: mmmnnnaaahhhh

FA Cup gets my vote.

The FA Cup stands out to me for a host of reasons.

1. Had to get by very good Fulham and Villa teams even to get to the final.
2. Thumped both of them.
3. Had to somehow overcome Man City in the final who had beaten us soundly earlier in the season.
4. Got absolutely nailed in the first 15mins of the final before we scored. Not to mention survive a penalty and 10mins of added time when players were knackered.
5. Tried and failed since 1990 (1976 if we are talking semi finals). So in my case pretty much a lifetime of not getting over the line (usually nowhere near the line).
6. It is such a prestigious competition which all the top domestic teams, which these days are many of the best around, take seriously.

The FA Cup wins clearly but because of the build up for however many years you have been following Palace (or a 120 year history), because we didn’t expect it, even in injury time. ‘Winning’ that goal kick and the minutes that followed, I’ve never felt anything like it and never will again. Relief more than anything.

Apart from briefly the goal and Hendo’s save that was probably the first moment of the game I could say I ‘enjoyed’.

The community shield, conference league, even the semi’s of the two cups, other European away days… in some ways I enjoyed them all more and they’re all kinda one thing to me.

One perfect year (even the part where we fell apart, got knocked out of the fa cup to part-timers and finished 15th, it wouldn’t be Palace without that).

That's why funfairs don't feature a Palace rollercoaster - it would be too scary. More like a series of bungee jumps.
