This one resonates with me because I went to the Final with my Dad so it was great to watch again. Thanks Finchley.

Proper football pitch with mud in the centre circle and penalty areas.
Proper baggy shirts and short shorts.
Proper tackles and physicality with no namby-pamby rolling around, feigning injury after a tap on the arm. And no VAR.
Proper commentary by John Motson.
Proper result.

That run by Pemberton still gives me goosebumps. I haven't timed it but it must be the fastest ever 2nd half goal of a cup semi. 10 seconds?? Apparently Coppell had told the team to keep it tight, but that run set the tone for the rest of the game for me. Look at the panic in the Liverpool defence! It showed that they COULD be got at, you just had to be brave.

It's one of the reasons OG is so ace. He knows you have to have a go, teams are beatable and goals increase confidence. If any manager can lift the trophy for us, it's him. Even if we are 4th favourites!

I know what you mean, that goal really made us realise we could actually win and we’re not just there for the day out. I’ve still got a framed photo up in my hall of Brighty and the players celebrating the goal

Superb. Welling up! Hard to believe I was one of the lucky 16k fans there that day (it said in the commentary - felt a lot more). In the top ten of my best days ever. I'd better not say how high up the top ten it is to avoid upsetting members of the family!

Looking forward to tomorrow. Won't be Villa Park but will be ...
