Chris Sutton for once, has been very positive about Palace and sees an easy win away.
Very complimentary about Metata. At a loss to see why under Roy,he was unable to perform and yet under Glasner,is one of the most sought after Strikers in the league, who cannot stop scoring.
Think we can win this one at a canter,3-0.

1. Glasner plays a completely different system to Roy which draws on Mateta's strengths.
2. Mateta is now a confirmed starter in the First Eleven. Hugely adds to his confidence and fitness.
3. Mateta is stronger, leaner and fitter as a result of 2.

It’s not exactly going out on a limb for Sutton to predict we’re going to win this. Doncaster lost 2-5 last night and with only 3 days rest I can see them really struggling in the second half

Doncaster sit 2nd in 'Division Two' and have only lost 3 of their 15 Home League games.
They have won 4 of their last 5 Home League games.
They signed 3 players in the January window, all on Loan, Ethan Ennis from Man Utd, Charlie Crew from Leeds and Rob Street from Lincoln.
At this juncture I have in my mind a 2-0 win for us.

I doubt Mateta will play until it's clear that Nketiah and Kamada won't work. And he'll come on if we can't score. Same for Eze, maybe Sarr, maybe Munoz. However, annoyingly we've little choice but to start the back three. Unless we start someone like Clyne in the back three and use Kphora. My issue with Kphora is that he's young but not as quick as I expected.

I predict a fairly scrappy 3-1 win for us. We will make changes to our starting 11 which, as we saw v Stockport, is likely to result in some disjointed play. Should have more than enough to win though

The wise old sage that he is 🤣

I expect we’ll make hard work of it and it’s their cup final, so I’ll go 0-2 with Esse starting and getting both

Surely a good opportunity for Ollie to give some of our promising U21s a start. These cup games are traditionally unpredictable though, so Mateta needs to be on standby in case we need a boost in the final quarter.

We'll win with a clean sheet, I'm going 0-4 and Leyton Orient in the next round.

Blimey, first Shearer and Lineker were nice about us. Now Sutton. What next… Merson and smith not talking bollocks. I need to and lay down.

I don't want to be the bringer of doom but a warning to everyone:

The game is on my birthday and we almost never win in the game closest to this date!!

I was in shock when we drew with the Weed the day after this date last year!

However, I am going with 1-2 to Palace!
Mateta and Guehi with the goals.

I know what you're saying POG, but, the U21's are away to Stoke with a 14.30 ko same day.

From Glasners pre match press conference;

Eze out - needs to rest his foot.
Nketiah out - Twisted his ankle in training.
Doucouré & Riad - out long term.
Wharton - Back in full training and looking sharp, available for selection.
França - was going to play for the U21’s but due to injuries to Ebs and Eddie he may be in the squad.
Richards - hasn’t trained because of illness and will be assessed at the weekend.
Chilwell - In full training ‘expected to get some minutes against Doncaster’.
