FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Think you're replying to the wrong bloke if you want fluffy cuddles. Most on here I think know this.
I have no problem with you whatsoever. Its all about opinions and though I respect yours as much as anyone's that doesn't mean I dont think its nonsense.
1. You cant put a positive spin on our worst result in our history. (and shouldn't try in my opinion)
2. People have every right as lifelong Palace fans to be upset, downbeat or angry about it.

As previously mentioned I am a big fan of Glasner and I still am but he has to take some responsibility here AND he needs to sort it out.
Thinking we're just going to put it right against one of the meanest defenses in the division at home is just naive.
Believe me mate, there is nothing positive about Saturday's result. My "positivity" if we could call it that, is that I've erased Saturday from memory, I'm focusing on the next game and I trust in Glasner's ability to get us back on track.

Anyone is beatable in the league this season, as shown by how close everyone is in points that aren't in the title race or relegation battle. There are plenty of points to play for and we have been in way way worse situations than this.

In league positions down the decades thats very true. In a one off isolated cup game we have NEVER been in a worse situation than this. Thats what people are upset about and I think its fair. If you want to forget it and move on thats your right. Its not wrong for others to want to express their anger/frustration/disappointment.
For what its worth I believe Glasner will turn this around. I dont think even he can do it in the very next game. Not unless we get very very lucky and Sunderland themselves have a mare.

I blame the board for this defeat. If they had any brains they would have bought the entire Chester team, who beat Macclesfield 2-0 the other week instead of Johnson. Or they could of bought half the Chester team and half the Buxton team, who also beat Macclesfield 2-0 the game before, and we would have won 4-0. Idiots.

Palace lose games and they let us down in important moments, this we come to expect but it was the manner of this defeat that has hurt so much.
As crazy as it is to say but this almost feels like a bereavement or betrayal of our support.
I would never have expected a Palace team to care so little as they did.
Yes it’s just another game, but that’s not the point.

Well done to Macclesfield - They fully deserved the win and their glorious day.

Their supporters were an absolute credit to the club and their players performed magnificently to win every duel and show our pathetic players the meaning of passion, pride, effort and determination.

It’s still too raw to talk about the specifics of the game but a few takeaways for me.

1) VAR - I absolutely loved not having VAR this weekend. I watched the Wrexham v Forest game on Friday night, was at Macc on Saturday and watched more televised games yesterday. Each and every one was a breath of fresh air without the involvement of VAR. I can imagine there would have been huge forensic analysis of their first goal and the contact on Canvot from Dawson. That would’ve taken minutes to scrutinise and would have completely ruined the moment and euphoria for them. It could’ve gone either way but I am pleased there was no VAR to ruin the game and deny Macc their deserved lead.

Of all the weekend FA Cup games I’ve not heard one complaint from any manager or player of a decision given or not given. The games flowed and it was superb to see.

2) I’m not sure of the safety certificate numbers for the away end at Moss Rose (Silkmen Terrace North) but it could easily have accommodated an extra 150 - 200 on the terracing without issue. There was plenty of room towards the East end of the terracing.

3) Attitude of the players - My son & I arrived early enough to see our team coach arrive and were stood right by it as the players disembarked. A few Palace fans were there to welcome the team but apart from Canvot, Mitchell, Glasner and one other, who stopped to sign a young lads shirt, the rest of them ignored everybody, even those without headphones on. Shouts of encouragement and welcome and good wishes were blatantly ignored and there was ZERO acknowledgement of the supporters from the team. It wasn’t a look of focus, they just looked utterly pissed off, disinterested and dismissive.

3) Captaincy / Leadership - During what was a dire performance I didn’t witness one single occasion when our Captain tried to rally the team or motivate or bollock the players. Not only Guehi as Captain but we had ZERO leaders out there or players trying to galvanise, motivate or encourage. Where are the Delaney’s, the Scott Dans, Tomkins, Joel Ward’s, Jedinak’s & McArthur’s?!?

Good Luck to Macclesfield in tonight’s fourth round draw and also for the rest of the Season.

Has there been a statement by The Board yet in regards to Saturday's utterly humiliating defeat?

I'm not calling for the head of anybody, especially the Manager ...and especially on limited resources and match overload, but it is particularly courteous to 'own and acknowledge' Saturday's fiasco and travel as one community to rectify this season in earnest.

As for Sarr returning from AFCon : "So what did I miss?:

So we just need to stay below Brentford and for Macclesfield to beat them next month and we can begin to forget about this nightmare 😂

Brilliant

Got the blue cup winners 2025 t shirt Hope a gold cup embarrassment 2026 t shirt will be in club shop soon .Been a fan for 60 years but Saturday a disgrace .Plus side is we shouldn’t complain of fixture congestion again this season so another excuse for leaden legged performances will have to be rolled out
