Eze

Article in the ST today comparing Guardiola's handling of Cherki to Arteta's of Eze.
I think the quote from Arteta sums it up:-
"Eze has to forgo moments of individuality and remove ornamentation from his game".

In other words play safe and boring.

What an @rse.

It might be me but Eze doesn't play regularly at Arsenal and he did not look on form during the last few highlight reel i saw.

Won the game for them yesterday with a cracking strike. It took him a while to work his way into the team... But whilst he was injured recently they really missed him.

My main hope is that whoever wins the league it'll be because of a Eze or Guehi goal.

I will watch it. Ta! 👍

His stats are often poor, his strength is goal hanging and drifting into that space on the edge of the box from where he can be quite useful.

I see Eze has been practicing his diving. Just sling a trailing leg at the opposition’s leg and fall over why don’t you.

Atletico rightly annoyed he wasn’t booked for diving. God I hate that scummy club, put me right off liking Eze.

He did it plenty of times in a palace shirt 🤭

It was awful. Plain and simple throwing his left leg into the Atletico player and then throwing himself to the floor. It’s coached into them and Arsenal are one of the worst for it.

The contact on his right foot was nothing and was certainly not a foul. The ref got it absolutely right to overule it having seen the replay. I’d still rather not have VAR though because I think it’s been terrible and is ruining the game. I’d more than happily live with a few decisions going against you and a few for, just to get the enjoyment and excitement back.

I've seen worse to be honest. There was contact from the clumsy challenge from the defender but Eze has made the most of it after being sharper than the defender and getting to the ball first. In my view those are soft pens that punishes a clumsy tackle. AJ used to win a lot of penalties for us like that.

The contact made was so minimal, (there was no stamp and no trip) and it could never have made a player fall over. I get the toe poke past the defender and getting tagged as per AJ but this was minimal contact that Eze tried to accentuate. It’s not a good look and is basically cheating.

Agreed, the contact with his right foot was minuscule and not a foul. It was a slight brush in mid air and they both then planted their feet side by side on the pitch. It’s just not a foul. Eze was then following the Arsenal coaching manual by throwing his left leg into the Atletico player.
