Eze

That Arsenal celebration still sticks with a lot of Palace fans, and there were things he did after he left that didn’t exactly endear him to us. That said to say he wasn't scoring for us is rubbish.

We were a long ball team. A good long ball team, but a long ball team all the same. If you look at Wright and Bright's stats they are almost identical. 2 games and one goal in it.

Bright then went to Sheff Wed - and his goal ratio went down. Route one suited him.

For Wright however - If you look at the goals he scored -the chip against Chelsea alone deserved its own award. Once he got to Arsenal and had people passing to his feet instead of his postal code, it’s no mystery he kicked on. Don’t blame him for that. Anyone would improve if they upgraded from long ball to actual football.

And we can’t ignore the fact we’ve done the same to others. Olise from Reading. Eze from QPR. Wright from Dulwich Hamlet. Nigel Martyn from Bristol Rovers. Matt Jansen from Carlisle, Wharton with Blackburn. This is football. Clubs higher up the ladder take from us, and we take from the clubs below.

Enjoy these players while they’re here. That’s all any of us can do and look back fondly.
apart from Bright, apparently 🤣 🤐

Arse fans will be crowing how they have made Eze a better player like they did with wright , I mean Eze was getting better season on season we made him arsenal rejected him , and wright wasnt scoring goals for us when he left only 90 and we made him , ive lost my love for wright awhile ago with things he done and said , Were Eze its different he loved his time here and the fans and the players
They haven't made Eze a better player (yet), yesterday Spurs allowed him space where he likes it, in the 'D' outside of the area.

All the media now going crazy about Eze as if Arsenal have just discovered him.
Pathetic.
Personally I hope that Eze excels, but Arsenal fall short.
They have my least favourite manager in Arteta and least favourite player in Gabriel.
Arteta ,whirling around the touchline, waving his arms screaming and appealing for every decision, complaining when any decision goes against them.
In a game of sore losers, surely Arteta is the sorest.
Gabriel, an out and out cheat and thug.
It amuses me that what constitutes cheating by other clubs is deemed as 'being professional' by Arsenal.

I always thought Eze had even more potential than Olise but when he did his achilles I thought he might struggle to get back to the top level. Then Olise kicked on and looked like being the better of the two. Now I’m not so sure. Eze destroyed Spurs yesterday. That central 10 suits him although Spurs did their best to give him the freedom of the park.
Maybe one day we’ll be big enough to keep top players. Until then we might as well enjoy being part of their journey.

Clearly, playing in the Palace First Team is the stepping stone to greatness. will be interesting to watch Guehi, Ebs and Olise in the World Cup and in the future. Hope they all do well and make Palace the place to join for career development.

What do you mean by causing problems at “the Turkish Club” (Trabzonspor) he went to? He was top scorer for them with 33 goals and 11 assists, they won the Turkish Cup, came second in the League and qualified for the Champions League. Solrloth was the Golden Boot winner for Turkey that year. It meant that Palace got their money back on the deal which brought him to Selhurst.

The real problem was Hodgson who seemed to know nothing about forward play and ruined many potentially good forwards.

Yeah, cos everyone was raving about him and calling for him to be in the first team!! He was a complete carthorse whenever he was on the pitch.

the problems i alluded to in turkey was when he and his agent caused problems which led to him going to leipzig. I didn't say he didn't do well on the pitch out there. We also didn't want him back from the loan either as the impression i got at the time is that he's not the most likeable of characters.

really pleased for Eze.

Was great for Palace, had the x factor that separates him from the masses, helped us win the FA Cup and behaved well to get the move he wanted and ensured we got decent money for him.

All 3 goals were typical Eze goals, although not sure how VAR allowed the first, as the goalie's view was clearly impeded by an offside player

Yes, the same mixed feelings. Thrilled for him for his three goals, just stupendous. Gutted of course that he is no longer with us and that the top-six always scoop up talent we have found and developed. And delighted we were briefly in the top four over the weekend.
As for the might-have-beens: if JP had not missed that sitter when we were 1-0 up at Everton, we would be sitting in third place!

Olise is still only 23, so nowhere near his prime, eze has reached his, I genuinely belive Olise will be a generational great. Let's be honest, if you go back and look at all true world class players, they're all first team starters at big clubs before they're 25.

Totally , my point is arsenal fans love to make out they didnt they do anything special at clubs they brought them from until they come to arsenal , trust me I have a family of them 🙁

Yes indeed, but many fans had no time for Ian Wright after he kissed the badge. He got endless abuse.

I never felt that way. He will always be a Palace hero to me, even if he does talk a load of bollocks at times.
Another thing I agree with you on, Ian Wright is a Palace hero to me still. Wish we had signed him if even on loan back in 98 when he went to West Ham.

Eze is a delight to watch still, but he is an Arsenal player. I echo the sentiments of those who have noted the media are acting like they have unearthed a new gem and that he has now "made it". He was mad years before, at Palace. Lest we forget he was in the Euro squad last year and was tearing teams apart in the red and blue for the last 5 years

Arse-oles.

Eze's done very little until the Spurs game (ignoring that goal he's scored against us!). But that's to be expected, moving to a new team and coming out of a quite different Glasner system. I expect him to be excellent for Arsenal. But never as important to them as he was for us.

According to Transfermarkt he is now number 2 in Germany and 10 in the world! However 21 year old Jamal Musiala, educated at Whitgift School, is number 1.
