YouTube is awash with Palace videos (about everything) including one I watched this morning about which car each player drives. It seems there is such a buzz about the Palace win from so many angles. And, apart from Brighton and Man City) all the others seem supportive of us and our treasured win.

How do people think this will affect our future apart from keeping payers, manager, and attracting new players?

Will we see kids outside South London wearing Palace shirts?
Will our fan base (especially overseas) grow?
Will the Palace shop sell out of stuff?
Will our new stadium and stand be big enough?

Im curious as to fellow fans thoughts about the mid to long term effect of our amazing Cup win?

Brighton fans are rather upset looking at NSC. However, we all have to hope that Chelsea get beaten in their Euro final as otherwise Brighton could get into Europe if they finish 8th. That would be quite sobering for them.

What is clear, however, is that they may have finished above us a couple of times (only a couple, mind, in 120 years) and they may have a shiny, albeit soulless stadium (that’s not in Brighton) but they’ve never won the FA Cup and their fan base is absolutely dreadful - entitled, quiet, unimaginative and, if you read the boards, deluded.
I wanted them to survive and was glad when they got their stadium. They’d been dealt a rough hand and I was pleased they came through it. I know a lot of proper historical Brighton fans and they deserved their club to survive and flourish. It was a good story.
However, such is the bitter, hypocritical nonsense that their ‘new fans’ spout (you know the sort of thing - you say anything about us we’ll report you - and they do - but we can be racist and call you ‘pikeys’ etc) that I now just want them to fail. Horrible little club.

Regarding your questinon about the overseas fanbase:

I thought the Palace/Glasner hype had reached its peak in Austria when I left the airport through the exit wearing my Palace jumper last Sunday and was suddenly confronted by a huge crowd of celebrating fans, waiting TV crews and reporters. However, I was a little frustrated when I realised that the only one in the crowd dancing hysterically with joy at my return was our dog, who my wife had taken with her to pick me up. Everyone else was waiting for the return of our Song Contest winner from Basel.

I always remember when I was a kid back in the 70’s, suddenly everyone was a Sunderland supporter, or a saints supporter, then in 78 an Ipswich supporter, which was obviously strange in our corner of London 🤣
I remember going to school in 78 pretending I was Paul Cooper the old Ipswich keeper in the play ground

Everyone loves an underdog and it definitely leaves its mark when one pulls it off

The future of Palace relies heavily on a strong fan base. Looking around Wembley on Saturday, it was amazing how many families were at the game. So many of the children (my two included) proudly wearing their Palace tops. Suddenly, supporting Palace is now trendy!

You can only hope/presume its going to strengthen us for years to come.

Its really sad that growing up in Croydon, most of my schoolmates were Utd or Arsenal fans. Utd because they won everything and Arsenal because of Henry and co.

But its not just the silverware, its the team. Eze, JP, Wharton, (Olise) etc. these are players that are getting the limelight, getting international call ups. We are far far more attractive to young supporters than I can remember.

Taking my little ones to there football lessons now, at least 50% of kids are in Palace kits. That just wasn't the case 30 years ago.

No one likes a Bad winner or loser, the humility of our support believing but not expecting, plus supporting our team fully rather than focusing on the opposition is always going to win people over. We have a unique place in football, it’s a feel good factor not many have.

Exciting times for the club and as others said there were a lot of kids in the crowd. The day after the final I was talking to a dad in bluewater with his kids wearing their palace tops. Turns out cup final day was also his 2 boys bdays! This fa cup has changed the club forever

It has already changed and this win is only going to give the support base another boost.

I have a friend who is a Man U fan, it is possible, and he's lived in Honor Oak for decades. His kids have grown up now but rather than following their Dad's team, which no doubt would be the obvious option 30 years ago - they are Palace fans. They watched the final in a pub in Forest Hill and said it was the best day of their lives.

As someone who has followed us from div3 south days, I can assure you that as far as I can remember, we have always followed with plenty of gusto and hope value. We have been a club slowly building for years and although slow to get there we have always believed we could.
In Parish, (regardless of the image he physically portrays in those awful suits and haircuts!) we have a true Palace fan with exceptional vision and skills. In my view he has done more in guiding the club upwards than any of his predecessors. He is proving to be very special for not only our club, but also the area at large.
What was so good to see at both our recent Wembley visits (besides the obvious) was how our deep rooted beliefs have grown and then exploding upwards at the final whistle of the Final giving us a historic victorious reality.
Back at Selhurst v Wolves on tuesday, I witnessed what could very well be the immediate future of Palace. The whole stadium (less of course the Wolves stalwarts) joining in on nearly every song the Ultras punched out. What a night all our hopes and dreams realised, and then our promising youngsters turning Wolves inside out, before our two big stars Mateta and Eze coming on to finish off the job.
We have now truly arrived and assuming Parish continues to perform, I can't see much to slow our progress moving forwards.
Fantastic.

I went to school at Stanley Tech back in the 80's/early 90's and I think there was me, my brother and only a few other boys who supported Palace, even though it's only a ten minute walk to Selhurst Park.

Was all Arsenal and Man Utd or whoever was top of the league at that point and despite getting an absolute sh!tload of grief when we lost 9-0, my normal retort was "have you ever been to a game? No? well you're not really a proper fan are you, at least I support my local team". This was back in the days before Sky (and using teenager logic) and was normally met with the normal "well my great granddad, use to live in Manchester" bullsh!t repsonse.

It's fantastic and still takes a lot of getting use to seeing people walking around in Palace gear rather than just seeing Arsenal, Manc and Chelsea kits everywhere, especially in Croydon. Long may it continue and here's hoping that the kids in Harris Academy South Norwood (which now operates on the site of Stanley Tech) have a few more Palace fans than in my day!

Im sure like many of you, I remember back in the day a chant of ours at Old Trafford was 'See you on the motorway.......'

We get compliments a lot from other fans for supporting rather than attacking.

And I recall being at Anfield after Emmelyn Hughes died. Their PA had barely started his sentence when the Palace fans stood up as one and started the 1 minute applause BEFORE the Liverpool fans. They then applauded us.

I live in Manchester and was at the final, greatest day as an Eagles fan. My train ride home on the Sunday was interesting as I sat there in my Palace shirt surrounded by many disappointed City fans, I received as many congratulations as I did abuse. Got off the train and on my short walk home (5 mins) I saw 3 kids separately wearing Palace shirts.. so it's official we've invaded the north!! Come on you Eagles.

They weren’t your kids were they!?

Chelsea not only must win but they must also finish 7th exactly, if 6th and Newcastle 7th, I think, for the 8th spot to open up.

Let's hope they just beat those other financial dopers, Forest.

Us denying them Europe, winning THE cup, and doubling them has been an absolute humiliation overwhelming any bragging about league positions

Getting off the train at Victoria on the morning of the final I overheard a dad telling his mate that his this was only his boys second live game supporting Palace (the boy must have been about 10 I guess) apparently his only previous live game was the semi final, I remember thinking, wow if we win today how on earth is he ever going to top that.
