I have an avid supporter since the 60s and of course there have been several acquisitions which in my humble opinion have been positive influences on the team.

I wet myself with excitement when we signed Tomas Brolin🤣 but you know how that worked out

Some players are just meant for certain clubs and Evann is an Eagle .

Hope the option to buy figure is a bit more realistic this time around

Hopefully I witness a better version of Guessand than I have both at A.Villa and our club.

Wikipedia has it down as a “conditional obligation to buy” presumably dependent on appearances. I still think knots a decent buy. He doesn’t hide when he comes on, didn’t get a lot of minutes last time and yet had a great assist for Sarr to beat the weed, scored a late winner against Wolves and a goal in the Conference League. Not sure what more he could have done to impress. He was Player of the Season at Nice with 12 goals and 9 assists. If he can repeat that for Palace he’ll be a bargain.

An option to buy is good. Better than having to buy him if it doesn't work out or having him recalled if it does.

Exactly this. He may not be in our first XI but if Pino Sarr and Mateta are our first choice we need to be able to rotate fully without dropping the quality or experience too much. McNeill, Strand-Larsen and Guessand give us that option. Franca JRS, Esse or Drakes Thomas (at least at present) do not.

Drakes Thomas has not been given a proper chance despite looking excellent every time he’s had an opportunity. I hope Sage isn’t falling into the trap of preferring second rate seniors to high potential youngsters. We had enough of that with the previous two managers.

Probably should go out on loan. Still very young. No point sitting around doing nothing.

In one of the televised pre season games the commentators discussed Drakes Thomas.
It was said that Sage felt that Drakes Thomas needed more physical strength before he could be considered as a viable option.
He's still very young, so I'm sure that will come in time.
