So Ireland Holland and Spain have boycotted the Eurovision as Israel are in.
Who f***ing cares if Israel are in. I might actually vote for them. Bit like boaty mc boat face winning the name vote for a ship.

You've got a point. They could win when you put it that way. Will somebody please now confirm that Ireland will also not show it. I pray to whichever Almighty God that is the case.
 
I'm no expert on music. (not that Eurovision requires any musical ability)

But i can see that Israel will be finishing very close to winning
 
I hope everyone pulls out, except Israel, and no one shows it. It won’t make any difference to me. I haven’t watched it for many years and the clips I couldn’t miss confirm that. It’s rubbish. Complete nonsense. The sooner it becomes history the better.

Israel should never have been included anyway. They aren’t in Europe and the sooner that’s realised and they start to see themselves as part of the Middle East the better for everyone.

Why Eurovision says it must stay political neutral but admitted Israel in the first place makes no sense.

In fairness, as I get older I do like some of the costumes on foreign female performers.

the comments under many Youtube clips are a clear demonstration that we do not all want to wave the Palestine flag. It is evident that you can put a Palestine sticker on your car and drive around town all day , every day. But put an Israel sticker on the same car and it will probably be attacked in minutes. Does that not tell us everything we need to know about AntiSemitism. From October 7th in Israel to a local car park near you.

May I add my wish that this whole charade be cancelled next year? The City of Vienna already has the highest level of debt, and now I have to help finance some of this nonsense as well.

I was working in Vienna last time and it had been promoted absolutely everywhere and I thought you had all really enjoyed hosting. We had to move hotels and move a bit further out, but the break was welcome got to eat in some new places, lovely city though.

Well, the politicians, promoters and some economic sectors that benefited from it certainly enjoyed the event. Many of those who indirectly have to foot the final bill may not have enjoyed it so much. But I admit that on this basis, you can question every single large-scale event, and whether you like a particular event or not is a matter of taste.
 
i remember when the Eurovision was a twee folksy event of harmless family fun. When exactly it transmogrified into the Woke monstrosity ? its difficult to say.
In the end, Even Terry Wogan was not impressed.
 
I would sooner stare at the 'Testcard' than subject myself to 'Eurovision'.
Some years back I was seated on an aircraft next to a gentleman who was a devotee of the programme.
I was subjected to a monologue about how he attends every event, which acts he truly enjoyed etc etc etc. Total and utter humdrum as far as I was concerned.
In the end I told him politely to move on to another subject.He seemed somewhat peeved and shot me a look which would have curdled cream.
