Well Mandelson's up to his neck. Passing Government information, before it was in the public domain, allegedly. What possible use could Government policy changes be to an international financier ?
And if that financier were to profit from this information, then why would the financier give a huge wedge of money to Mandelson's partner ?

Mandelson has slipped away from criminal charges before and I fully expect will do so again, but you are correct.
Hard to see how he wriggles out of these ones!
The establishment will have no interest in turning over stones. He sails a fine line between immoral and illegal.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see him in the dock, just don't think it will happen.
He is Labour's version of Boris Johnson / Geoffrey Archer, you just know it will all end in tears.
Starmer's judgement must be really poor to appoint him Ambassador especially with his track record of lying.

And Mandleson had already had to resign twice before from Ministerial posts due to nefarious behaviour.
What the f*** were they thinking? Just the s*** already in the public domain, let alone what the likes of the intelligence services must have on him, sufficient to rule the man out from any kind of Government posting let alone what must be the single most important Ambassadorial posting.
The very definition of a political FUBAR. Just this alone should be sufficient to bring Starmer down as he would have signed off on it.
