England v West Indies

David Gower, elegantly wafting outside off stump, edged and out but looking good.

Yep, if you're going to get out early with an injurious, reckless shot, at least do it with lazy panache and stroll off looking like you're enjoying the thought of some nice wine and caviar.

Now we get the Aussie commentator to tell us how brilliant the opposition are. I want to say something to them: f*** right off.

Yep, English cricket went from the small c conservative of when I was a lad to full blown social liberal with female presenters and foreigners.....Not saying that some of them aren't good....most of the foreign commentators are good.

But it wasn't asked for and wasn't needed.

It's like everything the left do.....can't leave it alone, has to represent their beliefs and won't leave us nothing.

We are toothless.

I must admit when I saw the announced bowling line up I thought 'no chance'.
I'd posted about it before. This is a bowling line up that lacks pace and power. Probably only Stokes and Carse are genuinely top test level - i.e good enough to do well against India or Australia. Archer's going to be coming back but not sure he's going to be the answer. In fairness, our one spinner is improving but he's still not great.
England batting probably pretty good - but you feel like they are always one shot away from giving up their wicket for a silly shot. Not so much of that from India.
One chink of light is that Australia aren't great at the moment. They face a similar issue with aging pace bowlers.
Another positive is that, in my opinion, the best side currently are India. England aren't being outclassed (yet, fingers crossed 🤞).
So it's not all bad for England - they seem to be very gradually improving currently. They need to find that next fast bowler. I don't follow County Cricket enough to know who that is. I don't think it's Tongue either, rather harshly of me. I support Worcestershire.

Aside from the guilty confession of your last three words.....I bid you spot on sir.

If we win it's because we have some batting talent that edges it in our conditions.....but there are genuine concerns.

We are missing emerging fast bowling talent....hopefully that changes soon....and I think we should be playing Dawson as the spinner.
