Sri Lanka are a poor side in these conditions and England were pretty poor both batting and in the field today. If that had been Australia or India we would have been taken to the cleaners.

In a word, rubbish.
It does make it a game credit to Sri Lanka's recovery, but gifting wickets like that was p*ss poor.

Whatever anyone's view is of BazBall it needs quick scoring to work and some of the wickets we gave away were virtually chip shots with no real intent. Several starts but only two scores of much value.
We then bowled a bit too short to use the conditions properly and weren't helped by some curious umpiring - bad light for four balls?

England's fielding seems to be going downhill recently. Fielding and catching practice would not be amiss by the looks of things.

Like Stirling was saying above - drop against Sri Lanka fair enough. Drop against Aussies and it's a century later that the batsman walks off the pitch. Bat aloft.

The rhythm doesn't seem to there for England in this match - which I guess is a combination of stoppages and selection changes.

What I saw has been fairly typical of the England team for many years now. If they have won a series, come the last game they seem to play poorly. This really isn't a good Sri Lankan side, aside from a couple of players, and today was just poor again.
