Eighth place could get Europe?

If I can arrange a three day holiday in Lisbon or Copenhagen one evening of which is watching the boys in a strange stadium against a team with a kit even weirder than hours then I will be a very happy bunny regardless of the result. Add to that wandering through historic alleyways bedecked in red and blue and bantering over beer with like minded fellows - a description of heaven on earth if ever there was one.
You can just go there on holiday in a Palace shirt you know. 🙂

Bournemouth currently beating Fulham.

Looks like we could be in a mini league of 5 to try get 8th. Are we about to loose form at just the wrong time? 😅

If we win our game in hand (unlikely) we go two points behind Bournemouth who we play on Saturday.

I feel that being in Europe will be a burden unless it is in a competition that will attract quality players to the club.
No one cares about the Conference League unless you win it, and only we will care if we did.
I fully agree, whilst it would be great to play at a higher level sadly we just do not have the squad at this time to cope with the extra fixture burden that this would put on our players. If the press are to be believed then come the summer we may lose key players INCLUDING our Manager and DOF.

we may lose a player or two, and Ollie might ne persuaded by Daniel Levy, but no way is Doogie going.:drunk:

Ridiculous that 8th place could qualify for Europe, that’s basically mid-table. Really think FA Cup runners up should get a place, if winners already qualified. I’m sure this used to be the case,

FA Cup runners up place stopped getting a place in Europe, after Millwall qualified by that route in 2003 and were an embarrassment.

The most ridiculous thing about Europe for me is the champions league being called the champions league, when only a small amount of teams in it are actually champions. At least in the European Cup days every team in it was actually the champions of their country

Money put paid to the purity of Champions league for European countries league winners. Now many smaller countries winners get illiminated in qualifying rounds to make way for 3rd and 4th placed teams from the big European league.

We should be aspiring to finish as high as we can otherwise what's the point? Glasner has experience of managing in Europe with success and so he would know what it takes to compete on both a domestic and European front. Also, while we may struggle with a small squad were we to qualify for Europe there's more chance we'll convince not only new players to sign but existing ones to remain, plus as someone else said it may give more chance to blood a few youngsters. This is not even taking into account the joy of seeing Palace play in Europe. Mid-table is good for the nerves but without any jeopardy the end of the season has not had much excitement for years. I think we'll struggle to finish much higher than we are now with the fixtures coming up, but Glasner and his team have often proven me wrong, much to my delight. Plus, of course, there's the cup too.

Can’t disagree with any of these sentiments, other than to say our EPL status must always take priority to ensure the clubs long term future!🙂
