Could Sheeran have handled this differently? I have to say I feel for him. Macklemore was a guest on his tour and he starts sounding off. Whatever people's political viewpoints, is Sheeran supposed to fall into line with anything his support acts decide to sound off about? N.Ireland, Iran, the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre? Seems like he got stuck between stadium owners and backing artists.

Only if it's the officially sanctioned viewpoint. If his support was virulently pro-Israel it would be a different story.
 
It's like the recent debates on here, like the anti racist stuff at Palace games being pushed.

People have gone along to see the very middle of the road Ed sheeran; they haven't come to see a loud mouth virtue signalling tosspot who's already rich.

If he was that bothered he should become an activist and talk at his own stadiums.

Ed Sheeran you Nazi, Jackboot b******. You've got what you deserve now. Macklemore, whoever he is, what a hero. Always said white rap is where it's at. f***ing legend. So is everyone else that has pulled out. The toilet installers, the whole lot. Ed Sheeran couldn't get a haircut around my way now. We're all hero's sticking it to the man.

Ed Sheeran, one of the most uncontroversial, gentle, well liked artists of all time, and he's being attacked into grovelling with threat of permanent labelling and cancellation. Already costing him a fortune and ruining events for people who just want a night out of music, because of these IDIOT progressives and their followers. Did I say idiot? I meant C**T, that's what they are.

My issue with this entire issue is that people are celebrating Macklemore without realizing that he actually is antisemitic. There are plenty of people who question Israelis activities who are not, but Macklemore isn't one of them.

When you support someone you end up owning all of their previous activities and statements, and Macklemore isn't exactly the right guy to be the messenger.

Had i been Sheeran, i would have gently calmy failed to renew the contract of the gobby musicians on the grounds of 'needing to keep a bit of new variety in the act'. And never mentioned a word of them being gobby tw@ts.

Sheeran should have tried out that backup act prior to employing them. Maybe do a few gigs in a pub. The feckers would have given themselves away.

Haven't got a dog in the race but how many of those who were so deeply offended by Sheeran's actions were genuinely outraged? He's been caught in the crosshairs of the current buzzword cause - last year he'd have been castigated for his position on trans issues or Ukraine or something else. Give it a month and some new cause will be central to existence and this will be forgotten.

Sheeran is in a business where virtue signalling and jew hating " pro Palestinians " are allowed to spout their hatred with no consequences. I think a lot is driven by the fear of financial loss if you don't go along.

Poor Ed won't win them over with his statement because Oct 7 didn't happen or they had it coming. Ed is being neutral and that's not acceptable.
