Eagle Football Group / Textor in Administration

Whilst I am obviously happy he’s got nothing to do with our club anymore it is ironic that he proposed OG as our manager and promoted our possible next manager from academy to first team role at Lyon. He might have missed his vocation!
He'd like us to think that but I'vwme also read that Freedman had been tracking Glasner as a potential manager for some time.

I pinched this from the other site because I loved the idea of Parish playing 6D chess.

""In the CAS hearing, after making full disclosure to the court it was found that Parish's CEO contract said he must get each and every major decision signed off by all the club directors.

This meant Textor had decisive influence.

What's not clear, is how Maranakis knew that putting in a complaint about us would be successful. It was either;

a) Maranakis trying his luck.
b) Maranakis had been tipped off about the content of Parish's contract....

If it is b), then it's pretty obvious where the tip off would have come from**.""

""**There's a thought. Parish leaked it, places the blame between Textor and Marinakis, Textor forced into selling his shares on the cheap. Parish gets rid of a rival. Palace become favourites for a European competition.""

LOL

Not my comments but I love the idea of Parish outsmarting Textor and the Fat boy. If only it was true.
I don't think necessarily you can tie the point of Parish's contract to Marinakis being aware of it or him taking a punt. In respect of disclosure UEFA and the court of Arbitration may have asked to see documents that were of relevance to decision-making at Board level in CPFC and Eagle Holdings, which could include such contracts.

We still don't even know, nor will we ever will I suspect, what exact role Forest had in this. They've always maintained they were just seeking clarification. Maybe, maybe not but ultimately any intervention by Forest I think on reflection had very little to do with the outcome. Our owners missed the deadline because they were bad at admin and never expected us to win the FA Cup and for it to be an issue.

I've let this go some time ago.

Not much sympathy for Ares as they made the decision to back Textor with colossal sums in the 'alternative assets' market - they must have made a serious miscalculation in the likely returns from French football.
French football collapsed under an ITV Digital type scenario shortly after that period, but the blame can't be solely on the state of French football.

Other clubs have wethered the storm. Textor owned clubs in much better climates that have gone down the plug with Lyon, it's his own mismanagement that is reflected, and it was his abilities that they miscalculated.

It wasn't even on UEFA's radar until the email came through from the Don.

Marinakis has friends and relations on the UEFA board. The corruption really is that simple.
Them publicly boasting about inviting him to a Champions League dinner/meeting when none of his clubs have qualified for it really leaves a sour taste.
